Sountrack for the Apocalypse!!!,
By
This review is from: Horror (Audio CD)
I am a fan of "Golgotha" and when I first saw this I was like, "i hope it's as good as the first one"...whoa!!!! It is WAYYYYY better!!!!!!!! I envy Dean Atkinson on some of his growls...AMAZING! Every song has bible verses that the song was taken from, mostly Revelations....the end of the world is coming soon, and this is the soundtrack!

brutal, but....,

i've been anticipating this release since i caught word of when it was actually coming out. i even previewed the track "lash by lash" on their myspace page and was pretty blown away. it seemed that they had gotten "heavier" with this release... and, they had. but, the formula hasn't really changed much from golgotha. brutal riffs, brutal breakdowns, brutal vocals! i just wish that they would steer clear of the monotonous single note breakdowns more often and hide them a little better.

MOst hooks ever in a death album,

Great piece of work here. The one note break downs are the only negative in my opinion but they sort of go along with the feel of the record once you hear it a couple of times. I have never had an album of this type stick in my head like horror does. The refrains and choruses (if you wanna call them that) are all about the hook. After listening through it once, I couldn't wait to start the whole thing over again. This is not a "groudbreaking" change for the genre but it is very well done and has numerous parts that had me saying "what was that lyric and why can't I get that part out of my head?" People look at you funny when you walk around singing stuff like this but I can't help myself. It's really good.

Amazingly Fast and Brutal Album,
This review is from: Horror (Audio CD)
It's funny, this album is actually very similar to what Impending Doom's older music would have sounded like with better production values. ID's "Nailed Dead Risen" is a better album overall, but this tops it times 10 in the production/mixing department. What I'm hearing from "With Blood Comes Cleansing" is a band that knows how to work hard and doesn't give a hoot what people think of their craft. They just sound brutal and awesome all the way through... If speed metal is your thing, you'll LOVE this album. If pig squeals mixed with deep growls are your thing, you'll LOVE this album. If Christianity is your life, you will LOVE this album. If commercially friendly, melodic metal is your thing... better start planing your funeral.

One night i was listening to a christian metal internet station and the site had a list of bands, With Blood Comes Cleansing, the name itself caught my eye,the lyrics matched the music's intensity, they were very descriptive,I'd never heard metal this great, after years of listening to Pantera, I needed an alternative and With Blood Comes Cleansing is just that only better ROCK ON

Horrible,
This review is from: Horror (Audio CD)
After buying their CD "Golgotha," I have been waiting for something new to come out of them. A couple weeks after their new CD came out I picked up a copy, and to my immense displeasure found that this CD is nothing like the first. The drums lacked more technicality and the guitar rifts were weak. However, if you enjoy just listening to death metal to get into the scene then this CD is right for you.But I highly recommend Golgotha, because it brings in what was lacking from this CD, however, the vocalists are different in both CD's.

The First Song Sums It Up Well,
By Bill Lumbergh "yeaahh..." (Initech) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Horror (Audio CD)
This is the laziest example of deathcore to date. With Blood Comes Cleansing not only lacks identity, but they've sunk so low that they can't write any good riffs and they use the same breakdown throughout each song. Passing the intro, we go to Hematidrosis, the second track. That track alone can give you an overview of this terrible CD.Another laughable thing is the lyrics. They couldn't write their own lyrics, so they are just ripped out of the Bible to exploit their Christian beliefs. There's nothing wrong with mentioning religion in music, but at least do it in an original way. This is a really boring, generic and uncreative album. There are better bands of this style that actually make distinctive moments (Despised Icon, Whitechapel, etc.). Unfortunately, this band can't come up with any. |
