1.0 out of 5 stars Gash!
During a drunken trip to Scarborough a friend of mine bought Horror Vision in a pound shop after we had read the film synopsis on the back of the DVD, knowing full well that it would be low-budget but hoping it would be so bad that it was good. Sadly this wasn't the case. It was quite frankly a damn waste of 72 minutes of my life which I will never get back. The best part...

It's definitely different from regular Full Moon fare.

Cool little film with tons of extras and a good story. I wish Full Moon did more cyber movies like this.

1.0 out of 5 stars Gash!, May 5, 2009
This review is from: Horrorvision (Special Edition) (DVD)
During a drunken trip to Scarborough a friend of mine bought Horror Vision in a pound shop after we had read the film synopsis on the back of the DVD, knowing full well that it would be low-budget but hoping it would be so bad that it was good. Sadly this wasn't the case. It was quite frankly a damn waste of 72 minutes of my life which I will never get back. The best part of the film was when it ended. I am no longer friends with the person who bought it as I can never forgive him for subjecting me to the epic waste of time that is Horror Vision. I am now receiving counselling due to the fact that I tried to kill myself 15 times during the film through boredom. The afore-mentioned former friend is paying my counselling bills as the court ruled that this was the least that he could do. I know someone who is dead. To sum up I really enjoyed the film. It wasn't Horror Vision though. I suggest you set fire the Horror Vision disk and throw it at someone you hate or to a lesser extent, even someone you quite like. Either way it will be a far more enjoyable experience.

Spoiler- Nothing interesting happens.

5.0 out of 5 stars Low Budget, Big Idea, July 22, 2001

A must see for the serious aspiring filmmaker. Interesting low budget effects, great acting, and a lofty idea made interesting despite budgetary constraints. Also contains interesting additional material.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fair Full Moon Release, April 22, 2001
This review is from: Horrorvision (Special Edition) (DVD)
I always look for the fun in Full Moon releases, but Horrorvision was all serious. In fact, I think this is the first Full Moon release I've seen that took a serious stride. HorrorVision tells the story of Sed, a technology freak who is losing friends to a mysterious website. After he loses his girlfriend, it looks like all hope is lost from this guy. After being attacked by a techno-pede (my word for the creature that resembled a centipede but was all metal), he runs into a mysterious man who helps him on his quest to discover the truth behind HorrorVision.com. I believe if they worked on this a bit more, and made the gore a bit more believable, it would've worked well if it had been widely released. The acting was real good for Full Moon, and the directing was quiet good also. Although there were things not needed in the movie, I think it was a pretty fair release from Full Moon. The ending left it open for a sequel, which I hope will be a tad better if there is one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrorvision DVD, April 29, 2001
This review is from: Horrorvision (Special Edition) (DVD)
I just got this movie because of the reviews from Amazon and boy what a waste. This is a VERY low-budget piece of crap. Very boring story and I've seen better acting in a high school play. The main characters are named Dez & Dazzy. That should have tipped me off right there. On the back cover it reads "Dazzy his BEAUTIFUL girlfriend." Well, her ugly face was the biggest HORRORVISION in the whole movie. Who did the casting for this movie?? STEVIE WONDER! Well, whoever they should find a new profession. For the people who liked this movie, watch Halloween you will be thrilled. LESSON - if it couldn't EVEN make it in the theater, THERE IS A REASON!

1.0 out of 5 stars Huh?, January 9, 2007

I really don't know what to make of this film. It starts out in a sinister way, moves into a Matrix clone, and ends before the story really begins. The story centers around a software genius who is running an erotic site to help pay the bills. He gets pictures from Brinke Stevens (whose presence does nothing to save the film). A web site called HorrorVision seems to be at the heart of a technological revolution/evolution. Accessing the site seems to bring technology to life.

Bradbury, a guy copied from Fishburne's character from the Matrix films, has the lowdown on what is going on and claims our hero has a special quality and can stop the rise of the machines (does this sound familiar?). There are several others on a list that Bradbury carries than can help. And that is about as far as the movie goes. Our hero sets out to find the others and the credits roll. Waste of time.

This is a Full Moon presentation and it looks like they were hoping for another string of films like Puppet Master, Bloodstone, or Trancers but never got to the second film. While films in these series did sometimes end unfinished on a cliffhanger they never did it with the first one. Since it seems the story will never be finished, there is little reason to watch the beginning. Don't check this one out.

5.0 out of 5 stars I think Full Moon is starting to get it..., February 22, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Horrorvision (Special Edition) (DVD)
This movie is a total rip off of the Matrix, but it is surprisingly good. The director, Danny Draven, has worked with Full Moon/Tempe Video director/editor JR Bookwalter and that influence is apparent in this film. I hope Full Moon sees this movie and realizes that THIS IS WHAT THE FANS WANT TO SEE. Less good looking, early 20 something strangers trapped in a building or fighting off killer clowns and more of these kind of horror/adventure/comic book stories with decent acting, good effects and cool plots.

Charles Band, if you are reading these reviews, WE WANT MORE OF THIS KIND OF FILMMAKING! More Dead Hates THe Living less Killjoy and other variations of the same theme (or at least come up with better written stories and broaden the pallet a little).

1.0 out of 5 stars Low Budget Loser, September 28, 2002
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Horrorvision (Special Edition) (DVD)
Don't waste your time with this low budget (high priced) DVD. This reminds me of an amateur "garage" band that never performed on stage. This flick is a total loser. The effects are phoney and amateur...the blood effects look like spilled cranberry juice...the music is so overdone you think you're at the symphony...and the actors and actresses flunked drama in elementary school. This is a pitiful, low-life, boring, silly and idiotic production that should have been released into space...not into DVD.
