Hors-Saison is a colorful medley of authentic French blues. Cabrel is one of the most famous French musicians around. Every emotion comes out in this album. Hors Saison is a sweet mellow and sad song. La Belle Debbie is a rythmic danceable tune. Cent Ans De Plus is an original song about slavery. The CD is a must buy for all french-enthusiastics. It even comes with a case\book with the words to the songs and pictures. of course, the words and tunes are in french, so it's good to have some background in the language.

I love Francis Cabrel and this album is no exception! ~ His wonderful voice and beautiful music style make this album pure joy! ~ I recommend Francis Cabrel whether you speak French or not...if you like Gordon Lightfoot, James Taylor, Eric Clapton.... and the words are always included (in French of course) so you can attempt to sing along! ~ :) Ecoutez-vous! ~ Jody Secker

I first heard an example of Cabrel's music when I watched the movie "Broadcast News," while home with nothing to do. The scene where Albert Brooks sings along is so energetic. I watched the credits closely to find out who the artist was and promptly bought this CD. I don't understand a word of it but it is one of my absolute favorites. By the way does anyone know what CD that song is on that was played in Broadcast news?

This is an older album, but worth the listen. Cabrel's craftsmanship gives this album a definite mood - of walking in the bleached sun of southern France.
