This review is from: The Horse in America (Hardcover)
This book is a wonderful look into the history of America's horse world, but is not so exhaustive as to disinterest the reader. It has enough information to really teach you a lot and keep you interested. It starts with the Native American's roll in the horse world and works through the stuggle for freedom, forming of America, and war, all the way to more modern times. Pictures and photographs thoughout illustrate the chapters and stories interspersed with the narrative lend variety and keep you interested in the story, finding yourself reading chapter after chapter. I had never really known the history of America's horses because I did not want to read a huge book about all the boring details. This book, however, I read quickly (and without boredom). I learned a lot and really enjoyed the writer's style of communication.
