I'm studying for an equine massage therapy class I'm about to take. And though the homework course they give usually has great illustrations to go with it - for the musculature system - I just really needed a better to see and understand drawing. So I bought this book for a few dollars and then another book for 20 or so dollars. Both are good, but I use this fantastic, very inexpensive little book ALL the time! It was EXACTLY what I need and has proven to be an invaluable asset in helping me understand where the muscles lie etc.

This is an inexpensive yet excellent anatomy learning tool for the horse. Great coverage of all the major systems with all the identifying terms. My 6 and 9 year olds dove right into it.

I purchased this text based upon the cover photo, to enhance the realism of my carousel horse carvings. The book met my expectations and I would suggest anyone creating a carved horse to invest in this book. It would be a suggested addition to the Carousel Animal Carving by Bud Ellis and Rhonda Hoeckley. The price is right and the images are clear and detailed.

I'm going to school to learn Massage Therapy and Equine Massage fascinates me because when I was little and even now I've always loved horses. They are beautiful animals and I bought this book to get an early start on understanding anatomy so that I can do an even better job when I actually gear up to take the class. The pictures are well-labeled and I'm excited about the coloring aspect. I'm a visual learner in many cases so the coloring helps a lot. There's also good information spread throughout the book so it's not overwhelming to a new person like me. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to learn more about horses for any reason. It's a great way to get started and build on.

This is the most affordable resource I could find to enhance the healing work I do with horses, especially when trying to locate organs for energywork or visceral manipulation. And at this price, no big deal to take into the stables or the field. Easy to carry and handle, and full of accurate and clear anatomical information. Highly recommended!!!

I bought this book to understand the basics of horse anatomy (for drawing and sculpting). I'm really pleased with this book. There are lots of big and detailed pictures; the book illustrates individual areas (like the legs) and areas not commonly photographed (like underneath the head).

This was great for what I needed; an anatomical reference to build a centaur body for a production of Xanadu. Thanks Amazon for always having what I need!

My copy arrived the other day & I love it! All of the drawings are really detailed, and some even come with helpful paragraph descriptions. The book is thinner than I was expecting. However, on the back of the 1st page, the publisher explains that they are a "planet friendly publishing" company, and save tons of waste and trees every year. Dover is awesome - buy lots of their coloring books! ~

Ordered this book for my nine year old horse crazy girl. She is inquisitive and always wanting to know more. This little book is great! She uses it to help her with sketching horses, too. This is a fantastic and inexpensive resource for horse enthusiasts of all ages!

Very happy with this purchase. Am about to start an equine massage course and have used it to prepare myself with basic anatomical knowledge of the horse. Good value.
