Picture Perfect -Horse of course,
By A Customer
This review is from: Horse (Eyewitness Books (Library)) (Hardcover)
This is a well planned and wonderfully illustrated book on horses, with many great rare photos of exotic members of the horse family. I was truly delighted to find good close up pictures of equines that are on the endangered list and and text written in easy to understand english. For the child or the adult this is a must for the horseman's library.

Eyewitness Books are one of those rare collections of books geared toward children that can also be happily read by adults. If you have a young horse lover in the family, get this book for them. It gives lots and lots of easily read information on breeds, body part names, tack, history, use, etc. I keep a copy on my own book shelves and have given out several copies to kids who come to visit the riding stable where I work. You cannot go wrong with this book.

Another Great Eyewitness Book!,
By Lynn Ellingwood "The ESOL Teacher" (Webster, NY United States) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Horse (DK Eyewitness Books) (Hardcover)
This book is about the horse. I am not the most learned person about horses so this book was excellent for me. It provided good information and visuals so I could understand better about them. I think my students will love this book also. They are always eager to receive a new Eyewitness book into the classroom and many look over the photos of all the covers and request more. They love them!

My 8-year old daughter loves horses and was begging for this book. The pictures are very heplfull in explaining all different types of horses as vell as their behavior. There is a large poster and a CD included. My daughter is not a coputer person so I cannot give you much info on the CD. The book is very informative and appropriate for children.

This book is informative if you wanted to know more about horses in the past. It had no necessary information about horses and everyone else thought it would be more about care, not history, and the photo of the cowboy on the palomino on page 57 is a fake photogaph taken at a studio, because the guy on the palomino horse doesn't even know how to throw his rope, because it's very dangerous when all of your rope coils are on the saddle horn because you can definitely get in a bad wreck, if your horse is to start bucking or get spooked. This book was definitely boring and I would not recommend buying this book.
I would not buy this book, because this is not the right book for any horseman's library, this book will definitely be forgotten, YUK! This one is not my favorite book, just - - - don't bother - not even as good as 3rd rate - - - Not worth any price that is low. Save your money and buy something else ... anything else like a different horse book or a rodeo or cowboy book or a western film! A picture posed by a guy that's not a calf roper on page 57 in a chapter called "The horse in North America" is just a phony and just looks fake since the guy does not know how to hold his rope. Certainly not the book you would never want to buy, DON'T GET THIS BOOK, because I would never buy this book again, never, and I would definitely recommend not buying this book. The only top best two horse books that you would probably only ever need are just "The Encyclopedia of the Horse" by Elwyn Hartley Edwards and "Album of Horses" by Marguerite Henry, as now really, horse lovers just only need two books as for anyone interested in horses or ponies--whether you own one or not--"The Encyclopedia of the Horse" by Elwyn Hartley Edwards and "Album of Horses" by Marguerite Henry are both the only books you'll ever need! Really, believe me,"The Encyclopedia of the Horse" by Elwyn Hartley Edwards and "Album of Horses" by Marguerite Henry are really the real much better books than "Horse (DK Eyewitness Books)" by Juliet Clutton-Brock. "The Encyclopedia of the Horse" by Elwyn Hartley Edwards and "Album of Horses" by Marguerite Henry are the only top real ones that you would really want to only plan on getting, than this one, right here, because this one sucks! YUK! The Encyclopedia of the HorseAlbum of Horses |
