My Point, July 5, 2003
This review is from: Horse Illustrated / Championship Cheerleading (Jewel Case) (CD-ROM)
Championship Season is a pretty good game, but not all of its points are perfect-some good and some bad. Anyway, I'll get to the good stuff first, then the bad stuff.
Good stuff: There are many interactive things to do at the stables like looking after the horses, a treasure hunt, and earning horse credits. The horses look realistic and act realistic somewhat. The events are fun especially the show jumping and when you're in the practice area (where you learn how to control the horse,) you can ride around and practice a little for the events.
Bad Stuff: What ticks me off is that there's only four horses in the game (Barney, Thistle, Taffy, and Blaze.) Plus there's a goat, but you really can't do anything with it. The levels 4 and 5 are impossible to do perfectly and in dressage, you lose most of your points when straying off just a tad. If you fall off alot during show jumping and cross country, it gets pretty annoying. What really makes me mad is that you can't edit the name, color, or level of any the horses. Nor pick a horse you want to ride until you have enough horse credits.
However, the game is pretty fun. I also recommend Horse Racing by Radishworks, it's fun, but all the black horses aren't really black, some are dark bay.
Warning! Don't get Let's Ride and Barbie's Race and Ride! These games aren't realistic nor fun (to me anyway.) In Let's Ride, you actually have to listen more about the riding than actually doing it, in other words, you don't really ride the horse. The horses look cartoony and the graphics are poor. The dressage is impossible, show jumping is ok, and cross country is a bit difficult for you bump into the jumps than jump over them. In Barbie, the horses are all mares, you can tell because of the HUGE eyelashes. The horses aren't realistic nor is the care of the horses.
I'm getting Equestriad 2001, I heard it's the best game! I also recommend Willowbrook Stables, but you have to have a good game card plus some of the clues you get are impossible to solve!

I dunno. The horses are cool, they're really pretty and have great graphics and I like the scavenger hunt.....but this can't compare to Let's Ride. Let's Ride rocks! I have every single Let's Ride cd and the best two are the Rosemond Hill Collection and Equestriad 2001. The rest are just....you know. And Mary King's Riding Star isn't too good. It is really realistic, and you get to groom your horse and everything, but besides that there's not much to do. You can do competitions and everything, but they aren't very fun at all.
Overall, the horse game on this cd isn't very good. The competitions you get in aren't fun at all, really. It just didn't amuse me that much.
For anyone who is thinking of getting Equestriad 2001, get it! It is majorly awesome. It is probably one of the best horse games I have ever played. So if you do get it, here's two cheats (I'm not sure what the first one does) MR HAPPY and NEW YEARS EVE
Thanks!

A Kid's Review

This game was interesting for the first few weeks then I got to the 5 level and it wasn't fun anymore. They could of made it more exciting, which they didn't. The good things are that you can jump which is really exciting. The bad things are that theres only 4 horses and you can't do anything to them, also they are really slow.Another reason is I wish you could put leg wraps on and bell boots or splints on the horses. If anyone finds a game that you can jump and do other stuff please do a reveiw on it because i love jumping in real life on my friends Thoroughbred and competing in events around where i live.THankz
