About the Author

Micaela Meyers is an avid horseback rider and the associate editor of Horse Illustrated magazine. She is also the managing editor of Horses USA magazine and the Popular Horses series. During her twenty-five years of horse ownership, Myers has tried virtually every riding discipline, from barrel racing to jumping, but one of her favorite pastimes remains trail riding.

Myers holds a master of fine arts degree in writing, and her horse care and training articles appear regularly in Horse Illustrated, Horses USA, and Young Rider magazines.
