A Winner,
By
This review is from: Horse Power: A Kyle Shannon Mystery (Paperback)
Here is a heroine who isn't snide, sarcastic, cutesy sassy, self-centered or stupid! Good plot and location, interesting characters, believable dialogue and HORSES! Even if horses are not your thing, you will love this book. "Horse Power," the third in the Kyle Shannon series, is a very good read that will have you looking forward to Kyle's next temp position in the very dangerous working world.

Hoofed!,

Horse Power, Mickey's third book in the Kyle Shannon series is the most riveting yet. Kyle barely begins to get saddled in among the stabled horses when the action begins. Familiar in this book are some of the characters that we've come to know and like in the series, and different in this book are some action scenes that left me trotting for more. Mickey includes a reference page that associates each horse with its respective owner, making it easy to follow along at the introduction of each character.

Horse Power is a Wild Ride!,

This review is from: Horse Power: A Kyle Shannon Mystery (Paperback)
The indefatigable Kyle Shannon returns, this time to help the folks in the office at Bright Hope Equestrian Center. But before Lake County's crime-solving temp worker can even squeeze into her new riding boots a body turns up in a most unlikely place and Kyle must set about sniffing out the killer. As always in a Mickey novel the characters are delightful; we may not like them all but they're real and memorable. The action gallops along and the mystery evolves as it should: clue by relentless clue. Whether you fancy horses or not, Horse Power is a delightful whodunnit and Kyle is a working woman's combination of Miss Marple and Jessica Fletcher putting on the pressure, asking the right questions and getting near-fatal answers. And the cinnamon rolls and chocolate chip cookies she keeps encountering are quite amazing, too!

Fun and well written. Linda's stories get better every time. I love the "trips" through Lake County, the memories triggered, the realities experienced currently. I love the way Kyle grows in each book.

Not Just Another Horse Tale,

Linda Mickey gets better with each new story. You gave me a clue that I latched onto, then you subtly steered me away. Then you brought me back with one piece of evidence and I could say, "I knew it, then I didn't and now I do!"
Definitely NOT a horse manure tale. |
