Exciting tale, good story!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Horse Shy (The Saddle Club #2) (Paperback)
This book was fun to read on the continuing adventures of Carole, Lisa, and Stevie. The Mountain Trail Overnight was almost ruined by the whims of nasty Veronica diAngelo, and how Carole's beloved horse Cobalt is killed by his owner, Veronica. The story does a good job of setting an example of how to rebound when your favorite horse dies. Excellent read.

Carole's friends, Lisa and Stevie, try desperatly to get her to start riding again. Carole is so struck by Cobalt's death that she won't listen to her friends. Carole, Stevie, and Lisa on finally on the long awaited MTO! They have so much fun, they never want it to end. When they get back, though, Carole is given premission to take care of Veronica's beautiful stallion, Cobolt. Everything's perfect. That is, until Carole gets back from her vacation and is rushed to the barn. It's horrible when she gets there. Cobolt is dead. After the incident, Carole swears that she'll never ride again. Lisa and Stevie know that Carole loves horses too much to give them up forever. But what can they do? While this is all happening, Stevie and Lisa are keeping their promise and trying to find out who Max the first really was. The old man is impossible to find info on, though! Read this book if you want to read a sad, happy, fun, and mishcevious story. Great again, Ms. Bryant!

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Horse Shy (The Saddle Club #2) (Paperback)
This was a really good book, but really sad. Carole's favorite horse, a stallion, was accidentely killed by his snobby rich owner, Veronica DiAngelo. Carole is so sad that she thinks that she won't ride ever again. But then she relizes that she loved riding so much that she can't give it up, and when she goes back to the stable, the mare that she ussually rides, is going to foal! This is such a good book!

This is the second book in the Saddle Club series which is about three girls who love horses so much they start a club called the Saddle Club, which has only two rules. The first is that the members must be horse-mad, the second is that they must be willing to help each other at any time. The three main characters are Lisa, Stevie and Carole. Stevie is a fun, practical joker who brings a lot of humour into the story line, Lisa is a practical student and Carole is the most horse mad of them all. The story line is that Carole is very much in love with a beautiful black horse called Cobalt. Unfortuantly he belongs to a snob called Veronica DeAngelo and she is not very considerate of him. Then in a terrible aciddent, Cobalt dies and Carole is so upset that she thinks she must give up riding for good so as to not get hurt again. Stevie and Lisa know how much riding means to Carole, and so try to stop her. Read the book to find out what happens next......

A Kid's Review

Thiis book was very good, but I found the part about Carole not wanting to ride dragged on for a bit too long. It was good, overall, and the first part of the story was really fun! I reccomend all Saddle Club books!

This is a WONDERFUL book. I love Saddle Club books and I wish I could read them all. But I can't because I can't find any of them. I have read all of the books in my school library and the public libraries. In this book Veronica DiAngalo a snobby rice girl owns a beutiful thourobreed named Colbalt. Carole (a memdber of the Saddle Club) is in love with him. While Veronica can't take care of her horse Carole exercises Colbalt and even teaches him some new trickes. When Veronica's carelessness cause Colbalt his life Carole thinks she will never ride again. When she comes back to the stables she finds out that the horse she usually rides is going to foal and Colbalt is the father! This is an exciting book and I would recomend it to anyone who loves horses.

GREAT,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Horse Shy (Saddle Club) (Library Binding)
While most Saddle Club books are really stupid, there are a few exceptions (out of 100 or so! :|) and this is one of them. It is so sad! You almost feel how bad Carole does when Cobalt dies, and I felt angry at Veronica, that snob! Five stars.

In HORSE SHY, the second book in THE SADDLE CLUB series, Stevie, Carole, and Lisa finally get to go on the long-awaited Mountain Trail Overnight (or MTO). They have a great time, and things get even better for Carole when she gets back: she gets to care for Veronica's stallion, Cobalt. Veronica may be snobby, but Cobalt is beautiful and Carole loves him.
Then there's a tragic jumping accident and Cobalt is killed. Carole is devastated and swears that she'll never ride again. It's up to Lisa and Stevie to remind Carole how much she loves riding, and that life continues, maybe in ways that nobody expected. HORSE SHY delves into deeper material than HORSE CRAZY, the first book in the series, with the death of a beloved horse, but Bryant still manages to keep it light for her readers, with a more than happy ending.
