This review is from: The Horse Whisperer and other Great Movie Themes (Audio CD)
This is not the orchestrated music score that I remember from the move. It is a compilation of solid country western genre artists, with a little country swing thrown in. The music reminded me of living in Colorado, with genuine cowboys, saloons, mountains and starry nights. The entire CD is smoothly segued from one cut to another. Those who are not particularly country western fans would still like this CD. There's little twang -- in fact, it's more "new country" and cross-over artists like Michael Martin Murphy, Steve Earle, The Mavericks, Emmylou Harris and Lucinda Williams. The CD conveys lots of romantic strains --cowboy sees girl, girl sees cowboy, girl loses cowboy, cowboy misses girl, girl gets cowboy back. For true country fans, it's probably still a keeper.
