5.0 out of 5 stars Great toy for big dogs, November 7, 2007

I'm familiar with the Jolly Ball as a dog toy. Our St. Bernard had three of them and loved them. Family members experienced many hours of playing with this ball with him. He would scratch at the door, looking for someone to come out and play Jolly Ball. Yes, he did eventually bite through and deflate all three that he had. But we still had some play time with a punctured ball. I bought another recently for my nephew's Airedale, now nearly a year old. He loves chasing it and fetching and playing keep-away, just like the Saint did. So far he's not been able to put a tooth through it; his jaw is not as big as the Saint's, so he may not ever do so. But, we'll have a lot of fun no matter what. Despite the marketing of the Jolly Ball as a horse toy, it is good for dogs too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Made For A Horse But My Dog Loves It Too!, July 23, 2007
I was planning on buying the 8" model for my 3 year old Shepherd/Lab mix. Then I saw the 10" version for only a dollar more and decided to go for it. (Couldn't pass up a bargain!)
I ordered it one day and it arrived the next! I don't know how that was possible but it happened. When I opened the carton and saw the size of this thing I thought I had made a big mistake in getting the 10" size. I couldn't imagine how the dog could get his mouth around this huge ball. Well, it's been a week now since it arrived and I am happy to report that T.J. (Toby Junior) loves playing with it and has figured out the bounces and way to grab it and would probably want to sleep with it if I let him bring it into the house. His favorite way to catch it is to grab the ball on a full "gallup" after only one bounce. If this was an event in the dog olympics I bet that T.J. would win the gold! The ball is extremely well made, will not deflate, as is advertised, and we are both getting a good workout throwing and retrieving it. I can't recommend this ball more highly if you have a large mouthed dog and a large backyard. I'm sure it's fine for horses too!!

5.0 out of 5 stars horsemans pride jolly ball, September 24, 2009
This review is from: Horseman's Pride Jolly Ball (Misc.)
I bought this ball for a very active yearling colt. He absolutely loves his toy. After about a week he did make a tear in the handle, however he is a horse. The ball is soft enough to not cause damage to his mouth, yet tough enough for a horse to bite, and throw around the yard. When he destroys this one I will definately replace it. It keeps him entertained for hours, and keeps him from constantly nipping the older horses in the pasture.
