Great toy for big dogs,

I'm familiar with the Jolly Ball as a dog toy. Our St. Bernard had three of them and loved them. Family members experienced many hours of playing with this ball with him. He would scratch at the door, looking for someone to come out and play Jolly Ball. Yes, he did eventually bite through and deflate all three that he had. But we still had some play time with a punctured ball. I bought another recently for my nephew's Airedale, now nearly a year old. He loves chasing it and fetching and playing keep-away, just like the Saint did. So far he's not been able to put a tooth through it; his jaw is not as big as the Saint's, so he may not ever do so. But, we'll have a lot of fun no matter what. Despite the marketing of the Jolly Ball as a horse toy, it is good for dogs too!

Made For A Horse But My Dog Loves It Too!,
By
This review is from: Jolly Pet 10" Horse Jolly Ball Blue (Misc.)
I was planning on buying the 8" model for my 3 year old Shepherd/Lab mix. Then I saw the 10" version for only a dollar more and decided to go for it. (Couldn't pass up a bargain!)
I ordered it one day and it arrived the next! I don't know how that was possible but it happened. When I opened the carton and saw the size of this thing I thought I had made a big mistake in getting the 10" size. I couldn't imagine how the dog could get his mouth around this huge ball. Well, it's been a week now since it arrived and I am happy to report that T.J. (Toby Junior) loves playing with it and has figured out the bounces and way to grab it and would probably want to sleep with it if I let him bring it into the house. His favorite way to catch it is to grab the ball on a full "gallup" after only one bounce. If this was an event in the dog olympics I bet that T.J. would win the gold! The ball is extremely well made, will not deflate, as is advertised, and we are both getting a good workout throwing and retrieving it. I can't recommend this ball more highly if you have a large mouthed dog and a large backyard. I'm sure it's fine for horses too!!

I bought this ball for a very active yearling colt. He absolutely loves his toy. After about a week he did make a tear in the handle, however he is a horse. The ball is soft enough to not cause damage to his mouth, yet tough enough for a horse to bite, and throw around the yard. When he destroys this one I will definately replace it. It keeps him entertained for hours, and keeps him from constantly nipping the older horses in the pasture.

Fantastic,
This review is from: Horse Jolly Ball 10-Inch Red (Sports)
The jolly ball is fantastic for my boxer. She loves to swing it back and forth and hit herself with it. She did pop it after a few months, but even with a puncture it stays inflated. The only drawback is the horrifying noises she makes at this thing. Part growl, part wookie, its very odd. I can't decide if she loves it, or wants it to die, as I found her trying to bury it the other day. Best indestructible toy for big dogs.

Jolly Ball,
This review is from: Jolly Pet 10" Horse Jolly Ball Blue (Misc.)
I have a 9 month old Siberian Husky and had heard how the Jolly ball was not only great for horses, but for dogs as well. So I broke down and paid the $18 and bought one. She does absolutely love it! However, within a half hour of giving it to her, she had chewed a big hole in the handle. Now the handle is completely gone, but she still loves playing with it. It's nice because even though it is punctured, it does not deflate. I just wish they could figure out a way to make the handle better so it can't be so easily destroyed, because she loves carrying it by the handle. We put a rope in the handle so she could still carry it around.

This review is for the 10-inch "Horse Jolly Ball" . We also have the 10-inch "Push-n-Play" Jolly Ball Jolly Pet 10" Push-n-Play Red. The dog is a 72 lb APBT mix, and the video is at NORMAL (1x) speed. If you are undecided between the "Push-n-Play" and the "Horse Jolly Ball", consider the type of play your dog prefers. If he's into herding, "Push-n-Play" is the better choice. Dogs with high prey drive or that prefer tug-of-war may like the "Horse Jolly Ball" better. The two balls elicit very different play behavior, as you can see from my other video review. This ball encourage running and shaking, pouncing, gnawing, and general goofiness. We alternate play sessions between the two balls to avoid overuse injuries. If you watch carefully you will see the dog trying to gnaw on the handle. Because the ball is squishy he has been able to cut through the corner of the handle, and this would be my only complaint about the toy. If you leave a dedicated gnawer alone with this toy you will likely have a pile of pieces within an hour.

We love these Jolly Balls. They are valuable toys for our Aussie Shepherd mix even after she's chewed on them. They keep their spherical shape after being punctured by dog teeth, so they are still chaseable AND chewable. We find the handle is the first to go on ours; Dog loves the feel of the solid rubber in her mouth. While the handle lasts, it is a good tug-o-war toy. We have purchased 4 of these balls in the last 18 months, and all 4 of them, in various stages of destruction, are still played with enthusiastically.

My big dog loves this large Jolly Balls toy. He carries it around in his mouth, plays soccer or just squeezes it with his big jaws. I don't let him take it inside as it's big and he can knock something over (including me) but he has a lot of fun outside with it. We've bought these for him before and they last pretty long - longer than anything else he has outside. It gets full of teeth holes and he may even chew off the handle, but it stays inflated. A little pricey, but they last a long time and he's worth it. I love the look on his doggy face when the package arrives, I open it and pull out this toy. (Of course now he thinks every package is for him.)

This is the favorite toy of my 18 month old border collie. She carries it, pushes it, retrieves it, tackles it, even sleds on it during the winter. That said, my neighbor's dog chewed the handle off a couple of these balls in less than a minute.
