A fine start,

This review is from: Horses Arse (Paperback)
Being a serving police officer with over 16 years under my belt, and being a friend and collegue of the author, I was open minded as to this books contents and story.I knew it would be funny (As Charlie often is!)but also found that it tugged at the heart strings on more than one occasion. I found the characters hilarious and the plots cleverly worked out. It kept me thoroughly entertained from cover to cover and I look forward to the follow up.

Edifying. In a harsh yet entertaining manner.,

This review is from: Horse's Arse (Kindle Edition)
A transplanted colleague now in North America is a former colleague of Charlie Owen. I read this book as a result of his endorsement of it as an explanation of the rough and ready policing style of an area and population beyond the pale of normal society. Owen's style is at times harsh and vital, making a lasting impression due to the clarity with which the unbelievable is brought from the darkness to the light of a world that otherwise has no idea. If you like Irvine Welsh, you'll doubtless find Owen very compelling as well.
