If you're buying this book DON'T make the same mistake I did by also purchasing the Wonderful World of Horses Coloring Book (Dover Coloring Book) thinking I was getting different and additional beautiful horses to color. Just buy this BIG book and you've got two books combined in one.

I was very surprised at the quality of the pictures in this book. Very detailed and beautiful. Not the ordinary cheap quality pictures. I think anyone will be pleased with this book.

I got this book for my daughter who LOVES horses. It's a treat for when she does good, and she is REALLY excited to get it. The pictures are good, there's a nice bit of information on the horses, and the pictures are pretty and will be nice to color.

My 12 year old niece loves this book although she did say that the pictures are so detailed that they are a bit tricky to color.

I love that this book has so many pics of horses for the kids to color and they can learn about each breed as well, where they came from, what they are used for. My only complaint about the book is that the pages don't rip out.

Great coloring book for children who love horses. I needed a coloring page with draft horses for an educational program I designed for the historic site where I work. After much searching, I finally found it in this book.

160 pages would be way too much to color, not a huge FAN OF THIS ONE!,
A Kid's Review

I found out now that this coloring book "Big Book of Horses to Color" by John Green is a compilation of four books--FAVORITE HORSES, HORSES OF THE WORLD, WONDERFUL WORLD OF HORSES, and PONIES OF THE WORLD. Each detailed, line drawing includes a caption that tells some historical background or pertinent information about that particular breed, and notes and/or glossaries of terms introduce each "book." It is yet another gem for the other equine lovers or budding colorist, but not for me.
I wouldn't be to much a fan of this Big Book of Horses to Color because it's 160 pages and it would be too much to color because you can tell for "HORSES OF THE WORLD" about what John Green had known becuase the horses all look alike...from the fiery arabian to the Anglo Arab to the quarter horse and that there is no dished head on the arab, the quarter horse looks like a pony, no BIG rear end...the drafters, and the other European horses probably and maybe looked ok. You could tell this author was definately NOT up on our western breeds in HORSES OF THE WORLD! My only two horse ones from BIG BOOK OF HORSES TO COLOR by John Green is only Wonderful World of Horses and Favorite Horses and those will be my only two favorites from now on and never Horses of the World and Ponies of the World because it's awful that a Quarter horse looks like a pony with no big rear end and no dished head on the Arabian and I think the price is very low on this book as well, too. Ponies, I like to see only at shows but, "Favorite Horses Coloring book", "Wonderful World of Horses Coloring book", and "Horses of the Old West Coloring book" are only my three top favorites by John Green and they're better anyway because what you like about is for "Favorite Horses coloring book is that colorists with a fondness for these high-spirited animals will be delighted with John Green''s accurate renderings of 30 different equine breeds, among them showhorses such as the Andalusian and Missouri fox trotter, sleek thoroughbreds, pintos, Arabian, and sturdy workhorses. Captions. For "Wonderful World of Horses Coloring Book", Thirty handsome illustrations capture the legendary grace and beauty of the horse. Depictions of mounted riders; horses racing across fields; mares with their colts; horses walking, galloping, trotting; a stallion rearing up on its hind legs; and more. Captions supplement an impressive panorama of the world''s best-loved and most highly prized animals. For "Horses of the Old West Coloring Book", Saddle up for a fun and fascinating ride back to America''s old West, where horses played a vital role in the culture and development of the country''s new frontiers. Add your own colors to 30 exciting scenes straight from the pages of history: the Pony Express, the U.S. Cavalry, wagon trains, and more. Those are the only three horse coloring books by John Green I'll only like are Favorite Horses coloring book, Wonderful World of Horses Coloring Book and Horses of the Old West coloring book because those perfect best three would be a lot of fun anyway and that's a fair better choice of three. I never want "Horses of the World" in "Big Book of Horses To Color" by John Green because it's awful that a Quarter horse looks like a pony with no big rear end and no dished head on the Arabian and I think the price is very low on this book as well, too. The Quarter Horse doesn't even look like a pony in "Favorite Horses Coloring Book" and it's much better in "Favorite Horses Coloring Book" and that's a better price, too. The only books of The Big Book of Horses I like are: "Horses (All Aboard Books)" by Laura Driscoll, "Storybook Treasury of Animals (Storybook Treasuries)" and "The Big Book of Horses" edited by J. C. Suares and that's the best ones I'm a fan of in "The Big Book of Horses" and of course the only horse coloring books by John Green are only "Favorite Horses Coloring Book", "Wonderful World of Horses Coloring Book" and "Horses of the Old West Coloring book" and that's the best fair choice to have of Horses coloring books and of course the Big Book of Horses. Well, can't wait to buy "Wonderful World of Horses Coloring book" and "Horses of the Old West coloring book" and those will be also fun to color in. That's an excellent fair choice for a good cowboy:) |
