Editorial Reviews

Humans have relied on horses since the dawn of time, but there is no stronger bond than between a horse and rider on the battlefield.

Narrated by Ronald F. Maxwell, director of the epic film Gettysburg, the Horses of Gettysburg - CIVIL WAR MINUTES® IV Public Television Edition features the exciting version of the film that aired on HDTV. Horses of Gettysburg captures the relationship between soldiers and their horses while celebrating these forgotten heroes of the Civil War and their critical role in shaping the United States of America that we live in today.

I was a bit let down by this video -- too many images of statues and not enough live footage. The producers meant well and are to be admired for their effort.

Well done Documentery on the war horses. Really opens your eyes to the struggles of using all animals to wage war. I only wish it had been longer.
