This was my favorite book of horse breeds when I was a little girl. and even now at 29 I use this book for reference. I have yet to find such an easy to use guide that offers the variety of breeds that this book does. I love that fact that photos (not drawings or worded descriptions) are provided for every breed listed in the book. The breed listing itself is extensive and varied. It is because of this book that I was introduced to the the Akhal-Teke and the Finnish, the Camargue and the Sorraia. I rarely see many of the breeds mentioned in this book in amongst other books containing breed listings, and I love its compact size. If you are looking for nothing more than a picture book of horse breeds, this is the book to get. The description provided with each breed is short and simple. If you are looking for a book that offers horse care or anything else, look elsewhere.
