5.0 out of 5 stars fantastic tool
If you own a crossbow - this is a must item. with an e-z loader one can purchase the strongest crossbow and not worry weather you can pull back the bows string. I wish I would have bought one at the time of my crossbow purchase.

3.0 out of 5 stars Be cautious! It's easy to cut too short...
I gave this 3 stars for 3 reasons. #1 I honestly feel that you should receive this with the crossbow. It's ridiculous that you pay $600 for a crossbow you can't use until you purchase $100 worth of extras (cocking device, bolts, lube, wax...etc). I have the TRT Ultra-lite, and it's great! You can't get to the string with your hands though, because of the sound dampeners,...

I have problems in my left arm, and I thought I would need a manual cranking device. I decided to try this device first, and I'm glad I did. It works great I can even cock the bow sitting down. This can also be used to uncock the bow. Its great.

With my back I can't pull back the bowstring to cock my barnett wildcat. (150lbs), also it really takes the fun out of shooting with all the labor and stress on your fingers by doing it manually. better than a crank in my opinion and made it so easy to draw back my crossbow. now i can sight in and get ready for late archery season here in pa.

I had been using the Horton Universal cocking rope and it worked fine but I just installed this on my bow yesterday and what a difference! It's easy to use, works well and BEST of all has little spacers on the hooks that ensure a consistent pull each time. The spacers make sure that you don't end up pull the string off center or load the limbs unevenly. Well worth the money. Note, this seems to be for Horton crossbows only as it has a block that fits over the existing site bridge.

I bought a bone collector bow by horton, I am ordering all this cool stuff trying to get ready for shooting. I ordered the ezloader and I am reading the instructions about the mounting block, come to find out I dont need to use it, its allready on a horton bow, theres a grove for the rope on the stock it was hiding in the camo. any how the Ez loader is awesome device, Even a dummy can use it.

You can't get to the string with your hands though, because of the sound dampeners, so the cocking rope is required. #2. The instructions tell you to tie a reference knot at the end of the handle, once the rope is wrapped around the sight bridge and attached at both ends, then cut the rope shorter than the knot so you will have just enough length to add tension for storing the device on the bow when not in use. Ha... I did exactly as it stated and there was no way it was going to be long enough to work after putting a knot in the string. So be careful and cut it longer than you need. Then adjust slowly. #3 The rope provided is cheap and wore out quickly. I replaced it with some black mil spec 550 para cord and it looks, feels and works 10x better. All in all though, since you have no choice but to buy it. It does what it is meant to do.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not as Shown, September 20, 2011

Both the website and the instuctions show a sight block which is different as recieved. Instructions state: "Possition center of rope around sight block and make sure rope is seated in channel." There is no longer a "channel" in the sight block. It continually slipped off when trying to cock the bow with the rope positioned where the channel is shown. The only safe way to use it is to position the rope under the sight block.
