As a TeXan far from there, this genius writer gave me yet another memory of my childhood years - actually before them but I resonated to much he intuitively shared. Plus I would love to audition for the lead!! I love acting and already have the accent! :) You can't go wrong if you buy this one...and keep it.

This is a collection of the three scripts for the three different versions of "The Trip to Bountiful." I have seen the movie version several times, but was interested to see how the script had evolved from a live television play to a stage play to a film, and that is what this book provides.
All three scripts are here in their entirety, along with a few photos from the various productions, and an introduction that tells the story of the play's genesis and development. (Oh, how I wish I could have seen Lillian Gish in the original TV and play versions!)
If you have never seen the play or the film, I encourage you to get this book and read this marvelously subtle and very touching story. The introduction and other materials in the book will introduce you to Horton Foote and his work, so you may appreciate the scripts even more.
