This is my first Crossbow and originally I was going to buy an Excalibur but the salesman at Dicks Sporting Goods said I had to see the Horton Vision 175 before making my Choice. Being a woman weight and balance were an issue for me since most Crossbows are really front end heavy. Which makes you wobble more on your shot. The vision is well balanced an you could actually hold it with one hand and shoot if you had to. When I shot it at the indoor range in the store the only thing I heard was the arrow hitting the target. Very Quiet. The width of the bow is also very compact and easy to carry. You won't be banging it around like you would other bows. I was sold and came home with one.
My husband who was very sceptical about a crossbow really liked the look and feel of it when I brought it home. I took it out to shoot and sight it in I started at 20 yards and zeroed it in. I then moved the target out in 10 yard increments all the way to 50 yards and it was still dead on. I imagine it would have shot farther if I would have tried but I'm not going to even take a 50 yard shot with it so there was no point. The scope is really nice too! it will illuminate Green, Red or Plain black. My husband was so impressed we bought a second Horton Vision 175.
MADE IN THE USA in KENT,OHIO. A word about Horton Customer service. We accidentally dry fired one. DO NOT EVER DO THAT! Like I said it was an accident. WEll it busted the main string, bent the left cam and GOd knows what else that my eyes could not tell. I took it to the store where I bought it. They shipped it to Horton. Horton Relpaced everything on the bow except the aluminum Rail and scope at NO CHARGE! that's right new limbs strings cams and even a new stock free of charge. They even paid all the shipping to the factory and back to the store. Horton has won our loyality and our business for life!

Used the Horton Vision 175 this past fall 2009 hunting deer and had excellent results. Crossbow is very accurate, shot three deer, no problem. Crossbow is compact, easy to carry with a sling and maneuver in the brush or from treestand. PLENTY OF POWER! Bolt passed through critters like hot knife through butter. Fantastic crossbow! Half the price of competitive models but shoots like it is very expensive. Fun for my family and friends to shoot bulls-eyes on my basement indoor range. I'm extremely impressed and HAPPY!!Try it and you will be pleased...guaranteed!!

One thing I have learned before buying this crossbow.... no matter what crossbow you look at, you will find a negative rating on the web somewhere. You are not going to find a crossbow without a negative rating somewhere on the web, impossible. I did about 5 months of research and 1 month of shooting at a few shops in my area (central PA) before ordering this from Amazon. The Vision 175 is the best balanced and most functional crossbow. It is very small once "armed" (not using the other word). The reverse limb design is awesome, a lot of people see it and it just looks mean. It is not the fastest shooting crossbow on the market, but it shouldn't be all about FPS anyway. A lot of manufacturers lie about their FPS just to get a sale. This bow is solid, accurate, and deadly. Out of the box, I hit a 3" pattern at 50 yards. Yes, 50 yards on the low crosshair (there are 5 in the scope). Keep your string waxed and your rail lubed, and this will last forever. Good luck.

Bulls eye Everytime
