The last roll of gaffers tape I had was a cloth backed type from 3M. It stuck beautifully and was waterproof without leaving a residue. This is more like a duct tape with a plastic backing. I wrapped it around some tubing and used it outside on a nice sunny day. It unpeeled from itself in a couple hours. It does not meet my expectations and was not a good value.

Unlike other reviewers here, I found that this tape DOES leave a residue. I used it to hold cables firmly to a printer in my office. Removing the tape 2 weeks later, there is a sticky substance on the surface where the tape was attached. This tape is less like "cloth" than other gaffer tape I have purchased, it's more like a vinyl, and I wouldn't recommend it if you are concerned about being able to remove it later without residue. Maybe they changed suppliers since the other reviews were written.

This is not professional-quality gaff tape. It balls up easily but tears poorly. It leaves residue behind and then doesn't hold well. And it smells funny. Substandard quality.

I needed this for taping down temporary audio cables to carpet and other flooring - to help prevent anyone from tripping over the ables. Gaffers tape removes clean, unlike duct tape, so it does not leave a residue on the floor or rip up the carpet. It works just like you'd expect.

This tape was cheap. And Gaffer's tape is crazy expensive. But you get what you pay for. It's not wide enough, it doesn't have good grip, and it is always coming loose. We end up using 2-3 times more tape than we should, so the money we've saved is offset by overuse and poor quality tape.

Go with the wider stuff if you can, and pick a different brand.

I thought I was getting gaffers tape which is what it appears to be from the ad. But it seems more like electric tape not the cloth like gaffers tape. Gaffers tape is smooth and wen you don't you scissors to cut it looks like you cut it with scissors. This items is not good. Maybe for an electrician or a plumber. It's being shipped back. No wonder why it was so cheap.

This stuff holds well and doesn't seem to leave residue behind. It has a little bit of a sheen to it, which keeps me from giving it 5 stars, but otherwise, it's a good stage tape for a good price.

Even with it's high shipping cost, it still was cheaper than any where else I've found, including local area stores. This is a great product and a must-have for any one working with live sound equipment and P.A. systems.

This tape holds well, tears easy, has a matte finish and there is no residue left after it's pulled off. Kind of pricey when compared to other forms of tape, but the hassle free nature of this product makes it well worth it. I use it to pin down cords, rig stands, and put up set lists.

Gaffers tape. Works as it should. Use it then remove it with no residue. Good price.
