5.0 out of 5 stars Does the job!
The product does exactly what it was designed to do. My application is high-power amplifier outputs (right and left) adapted to large passive outdoor speaker cables and uses a pair of these adapters. Being able to honor polarity and observe which of the two identical-looking banana pins is connected to tip and which to sleeve inside the 1/4" TS jack is critical and...

2.0 out of 5 stars Jack defective
I purchased 2 of these to adapt my banana plug output amp to regular (not TRS) 1/4 speaker cables. I found that if I plug the cable all the way into the 1/4" jacks, they don't make contact. I have to pull them out a little and then they make contact. It's a pain, and not a reliable way to operate. I disassembled the jack to see if it was miswired, it didn't seem to...

This review is from: Hosa BNP-116 16 AWG 1/4" Female to Dual Banana Adapter (6-Inches) (Electronics)
I disassembled the jack to see if it was miswired, it didn't seem to be. The issue appears to be with the jack itself. They both have the same issue, so it wasn't a fluke.

My solution will be to hack the cables together now, but that's unfortunate, since I spent REAL MONEY on these adapters so I wouldn't have to do that.

I haven't tried the Pyle version of this pigtail, which is actually a few $ cheaper, but I wish I had bought those instead.

The product does exactly what it was designed to do. My application is high-power amplifier outputs (right and left) adapted to large passive outdoor speaker cables and uses a pair of these adapters. Being able to honor polarity and observe which of the two identical-looking banana pins is connected to tip and which to sleeve inside the 1/4" TS jack is critical and easy. (It could have been made harder to quickly assure proper polarity if the two wire colors, black and white, were concealed within the banana plug body.)

The product seems rugged and durable enough to stand up to rough handling--it certainly will get that in our band's gigs. I like the "pigtail" design that allows some flexibility where the 1/4" speaker cables are plugged in. A one-piece rigid adapter without this feature would be subject to more stress and probably wouldn't survive during equipment setup and tear-down.

Delivery was fast and without any hassle. All in all, I have no complaints and would buy them again.

I needed these in a pinch. And, lo and behold, they got the job done.
