If you own DMX lighting, you need to have a terminator connected to the last light in the chain, and this one is the most inexpensive one I have found. You can't go wrong.

Well, it's a DMX terminator. It works fine. Since my setup is simple so far (only a single dimmer pack), a terminator is probably not necessary. Planning to add more fixtures in the future, I grabbed this as "cheap insurance" against erratic behavior due to an unterminated signal. The last thing I would want is an expensive set of lighting equipment malfunctioning because I was too cheap to get this little piece of hardware.

Update 2/24/2012: Added 4 more fixtures (Blizzard Puck3) and about 200 feet of cabling. The DMX terminator still works fine. Maybe it's a little bulky for some applications, but it presents no problem for me. I still highly recommend it.

It's a DMX terminator. These are important at the ends of DMX chains. I had 4 lights strung together, and they didn't work reliably. Threw this on the end and the gremlins vanished.

This is a pretty basic little device, and it does exactly what it is supposed to. Quality seems decent, and it works perfectly. Enough said. :)

There isn't much you can say about this. I don't know if you always need these or not. I have a multi-rig LED system and it seems to work fine without the terminator, but it also works with the terminator. Better safe than sorry, right?

Don't forget a terminator for your DMX lighting chain, this should be placed at the end of the chain to ensure proper DMX signaling is received at all fixtures in the chain. High quality 3 pin XLR connection. Silver/light tone finish, easy to spot for visual verification of its presence.

This is just a dmx termination to eliminate possible interference, which I am not sure if I ever had, but a little insurance to make sure I don't, worth it.

Connectors fit is good, does exactly what it is supposed to do, solid, well built and will hold up to mobile operations.
