Works like a champ! Stops water thieves in their tracks. Cut my water bill in half. Locks are not included...

I am the president of a local history society, and I was determined to stop people from stealing water from the outside faucets of our museum house. Every penney counts with our tight budget. I was leery of these faucet locks when I first saw them. Then I put them on, and now I am very impressed. There is no way to cheat these lockouts, and we are no longer providing water for theives. The drips were stopped! The theives are history! As advertised, these are quick, easy and effective to use. Very highly recommended.

In theory, this hose bibb lockout is perfect - the design is really neat and I am sure that in most cases it works a treat. Down here in Texas (out Katy, TX way) perhaps we have different hose bibbs as this just doesn't fit on ours. In the image shown with the product, the faucet has no additional pieces on it, and the lock mechanism fits perfectly. For ours, we have a section that is wider than the threading on the bibb, just above it (ie coming from the horizontal piece of tapeware down towards the bib thread. This means that the outer (silver) component can't get far enough over the inner component, o the tongue doesn't stick out far enough for the lock to pass through. Our bad luck i guess. other than this issue, it's a great product, turned up reasonably quickly and is ok value for money.

Solidly constructed. Impossibly for kids of all ages to turn on faucets. No more battles and mud puddles! Highly recommend.

After coming home for the second time to a looooooong hose stretched across the street from my water spigot to a build site nearby, I bought these locks. They stopped the thieves and my ever-escalating water bill. Highly recommended!

I bought one of these because my 4 year old kept turning on the water every time he went and played in the back yard. It fits on the hose as well as the bib, and it came with a lock and two keys. Very easy to put on and good quality.

We noticed that we had a real problem as thousands of gallons of water kept going missing every weekend at a property in Houston, Texas. We worked with the local water department to see if there was a leak. After checking all the plumbing fixtures, we decided to try a simple lock on all the facets.

Problem fixed. Appears someone was coming around on Sunday's and filling up a tank or something and costing us a lot of money. The city is now prusuing this matter and we have all four facets locked up.

A simpel fix and great results.

I have been fortunate enough to not have had anyone use my outside facette, at least I hope no one has used it, but sadly in these times you cannot trust people, give an inch, they take a yard, leave the door open, they walk in, basically I am a believer in locking your windows and doors, and not to give people an oppurtunity, like they say most crimes are crimes of oppurtunity, it always bothered me that we have a hose facette right at the front of the house on the side, for some reason Home Depot did not sell hose bibb locks, should have known better, to go to Amazon, now I am happy that I have this well built lock on, gives me peace of mind, easy to use, went on in seconds, a little diagram is included with the lock, you look at the diagram, and its like, oh ya, thats easy, I decided to go with this design, as the other version that is all round with an included lock, people apparantly just twisted to get off, there is no way to twist this off, though the description says to buy a 1/4 shackle lock, we got one that is much fatter, and it still fit, highly reccomend

The main reason I purchased this was to address an issue I have with a Realtor who is trying to sell the house next door to me. All the utilities and the water have been turned off in that house and the Realtor does all the yard work himself. What bothered me was that he decided to help himself to using my water faucet without asking or leaving a note to let me know what he did. To make matters worse he did not close the faucet completely leaving a small run of water. A run of water means an increase in my bill which means alot when you live in a neighborhood that has a minimum bill of $95.00 a month. (The neighborhood does not have a water utility tax, privately run water system which explains increased cost).

I purchased two of these pieces for both faucets on the side of my home. It's easy to install and one of the best deterrents for the money. The next time the Realtor worked on the yard he tried to put the same stunt again by taking my water. When he saw the lockout he literally stopped in his tracks and was stunned at what greeted him. To see the look of surprise and defeat on his face was well worth the money invested for the lockout.
