Book Description

Something just isn’t right at Battlefield Memorial Hospital. Nick Moore, a sensible middle-aged man from Eastern Texas, must admit that his best friend Jared might not be losing his marbles after all. By an eerie twist of fate, both of them end up in this same out-of-the-way hospital at the same time. Nick soon learns that Jared’s irrational, terrified rants about the place don’t tell the half of it.

The year is 2010 when Nick is checks in, but at this hospital, time doesn’t seem to cooperate and the line between nightmare and reality starts to become blurry. Somehow, Nick becomes involved in a famous local Comanche Indian fight from the year 1840. As the mystery unfolds, his values are tested and keeping his sanity becomes more important than his physical healing.

Hospital mystery meets historical fiction in this somewhat humorous, often suspenseful PG-rated novella. It has been specially formatted for all Kindle devices, so we can promise you a smooth, enjoyable electronic reading experience. Download One Hospital Nightmare today and get ready for one wild ride.

3.0 out of 5 stars One Hospital Nightmare January 10, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
`One Hospital Nightmare' is not a book for those who have a phobia about hospitals! I found this story to be creepy and mind-bending without being gory or over-the-top. The author has written a clever blend of history and horror as those at Battlefield Memorial Hospital have found themselves under a curse. This curse has then reenacting the 170 year old battle between the Comanche and the citizens of Texas, but the story is told in a way where the reader, as the patient, doesn't know what is real and what is make-believe until the end. `One Hospital Nightmare' will definitely have you looking over your shoulder and not wanting to go to the hospital any time soon...

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Horror/Suspense Novel October 15, 2012
By susanw6
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a great horror story that keeps you spellbound from start to finish! I never would have believed that elements such as a modern hospital, Comanche Indians and fleas could be combined into a book that can hold your interest so well, and where you can emphasize with the main character as he tries to make sense of all that is happening. It has twists and turns that make you feel like you are a part of the story, and have you wondering just what is real and what isn't. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves mystery and horror books.

3.0 out of 5 stars combination of history and mystery November 1, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Full disclosure: The author sent me a PDF for this review.
The story centers around a man who is having strange experiences while in the hospital. He is having dream like experiences that seem too real to be dreams. Some of the experiences is about a battle between indian and Texans while others are strange happenings around the hospital.
I was fascinated by how the author blended the history of a battle that took place in a nearby field/park into the story. This story kept me entertained throughout. I was uncomfortable with one scene that was very close to a sex scene due to my very sensitive nature. I don't read horror due to this sensitivity but this one had no blood or guts at all. It was more of a mystery with some creepy parts.

But how does this affect you if you are in your fifth or sixth decade of life and hospitalized? Are you involved, are you tested as fighters, do you live or die based on your situation as a patient? Are there other incongruities that must be addressed or are those addressed before another time? An entire hospital staff goes off the deep end with thebpatients. But with an apparently evil corporation on the rise what will the patients and faculty do ?

3.0 out of 5 stars Too short February 17, 2013

The author should really consider revisiting this book to make it longer. I really loved the idea of the book but it was way too short. He had a great idea but sadly lacking in length and detail. I did like the ending. And THAT'S precisely why it needs to be longer. Overall a quick read. It was good just over too quick. I read it in a couple hours. 3 stars given because of its length

Hopefully, you are not planning a trip to a hospital soon, but this book is just in time for the spooky season. If you like mystery with some historical fiction intertwined, then this is the book for you. Without spoiling the plot, there is lots to hold your breath about and yes, the fleas!

More About the Author

I hope you have as much fun reading my books as I have writing them. I am a fan of fast-moving stories which read like a roller-coaster, giving the reader just enough time to catch their breath before the next rush. As you may have guessed, I am also a big fan of history, and fictional stories which include a bit of a history lesson. I feel this adds an interesting element to any novel.

As human beings, our own life's experiences, combined with stories told from close friends and family, sit in our minds and shape the way we see the world. This is why reading is so enjoyable and so beneficial. Besides being a temporary escape, reading allows us to reap the benefits of other people's experiences. The only other way to do that is to get out there and do a lot of living, which is what I wish for you. Maybe someday I will be able to enjoy one of your books.

I get most of my ideas for stories while walking on the beach with my wife, who is my greatest inspiration.

Take care,

A.P. Kasch
