I found this book both informational and wonderfully illustrated with gorgeous colored photographs throughout. Most gardeners should thoroughly enjoy this book which has many garden design ideas as well.

This book excels at having a large number of good pictures of a wide variety of hostas. The text is secondary.

The coverage text was broad based and general. Didn't devel into the more complicated issues I was looking for go. But it would be great for a beginner hosta fan.

This is an excelent book for learning about hosta's and how to care for them. This has been my reference book for years, great book for the new hosta enthusiast or just a great guide to introduce Hosta's into your garden. A wealth of valuable information! Master gardener B. Chauvin

A very useless book if you are looking for what ails Hosta's and what to do about these problems. If you are having any problems, don't waste your money on this book as I have.

The book was likely near perfect leaving the seller. It was placed in a baggie type shipper, but being a rather large soft cover, someone in the postal service tried to fold it in half and the whole book is creased in the middle at the top. Bummer. The content is fantastic! I learned a plant that I only had a couple of when I moved into this house and have divided well, is actually a hosta! It didn't even look like one to me. Now I understand why it does so well in the shade. Anyway, I'm a book purist (I don't even write in textbooks), so the crease really disturbs me.

Again, the book is great. Helps with identifying the different types of hostas. I never knew there were so many. Here it is mid-September and my latest blooming variety has just started! Very helpful.

Can be a bit much if you're a novice gardener. Some concepts, while well written, may be a bit advanced. I didn't find the chapters on flower arranging using hostas or hybridizing very useful. Would probably not use this as my go to hosta book, but as a supplement to others I own.

The Hosta Book is full of good basic information, but skip it if you want to know about newer cultivars and enjoy lots of pretty pictures. It has plenty of detail about the care and classification of hostas. It looks (and reads) like something out of the 1950's or 60's.

This book was very helpful. It will be used for myself and members of a garden club.
