So you have your Alpha hereoes -- you know the smirky Dukes, the muscley Navy Seals, the Fangy werewolves. And then you have the Ultra-Alpha heroes, those Lisa Marie Rice heroes, those guys who are in a stalkerific, kill-you-so-much-as-blink category all their own. Ryder, in this book falls somewhere between the two but definitely higher on the stalkerific scale.

He owns his own advertising company and is deeply in lust with one of his employees, Lydia. So much so that he arranges it so that he and she have to spend a week together working on one of their accounts.

An account that just so happens to involve a remote tropical island.
An account that just so happens to involve an adults only XXX "resort" on said tropical island.

Lydia has had very bad luck in the man dept. She doesn't trust men, they've treated her badly, her mother had been married like seven times. She is blithely unaware that her boss has been sporting a ginormous boner around the office every time he so much as gets a glimpse of her.

But, on the airplane to the island, Ryder decides he's going to make Lydia keenly aware of his, ah, interest in her.

As romantica books go, this one isn't bad at all. It has a fairly decent, if overly familiar plot. Lydia is surprised and appalled by the idea of her boss being so enamored of her and, well, she's off men. But even though she has some vague general objectives she can't manage to say no and they get to heating the sheets lickety split.

In true stalkerific hero fashion, Ryder is overbearing and commanding. Calling her "his woman" within nanoseconds of their relationship and overcoming her, admittedly, vague objections. You know, he's just doing the normal over-Alpha hero thing.

I actually didn't mind Ryder.

I have to say one thing about this book, the title is true, this was a Hostile Takeover! My oh my Ryder was a beast! Half of the things he did and said screamed STALKER! but Eve and Shara did a good job of not making me (or Lydia) to wary of him. These are two of my favorate interacial romance authors and I am expremely happy with the work the put out together. They created two strong characters that butted heads at almost every turn, and had human enough problems that didn't make me hate them for their actions. The sex between these two is HOT HOT HOT.

Two strong authors who created two strong characters. Read it and enjoy

A very engaging book hence well worth the price. I don't recall encountering any editing problem while I was reading it. Ryder was just a man in love hence his behavior-although if it were real life, he would have been hit with several law suits and jail time. Eve & Shara did a fine job on this book and the sex scenes were fire HOT! This book somewhat reminds me of the novel "Love Script" by the writer, Tiffany .... -whose last name escapes me right now. That, is another great IR book.

This line here is for Eve & Shara: It has been my experience that breast stimulation during pregnancy is not encouraged by OBs-due to risk of pre-mature labor. Just wanted to share that small info. Great job!

The length of the book and its' story line justified the price. I enjoyed the book and was glad to see Lydia had it going on and could stand up to Ryder. At times I thought she pushed him to far, but her past was the cause of her being so wary of relationships in the work place. I am surprised it didn't bother her more to see how her coworkers avoided her after everything came out. I think the authors did an outstanding job with their family members and the old boyfriend. Ryder was borderline stalker, but a lot of us have been there at one time in our lives, so...

I purchased this book several weeks ago but did not read it for a couple of weeks because I expected to be disappointed because of some of the reviews on Amazon. Trust me - you won't be disappointed. I do agree that at times you wanted the main female character, Lydia, to stand up to Ryan more but that could not take away from the passion of the two characters. I saw Lydia as a slightly wounded bird that needed to be put back in the nest. I enjoyed Ryan more and more as the story progreseed. The love scenes between the two were too hot for words (If you like your love scenes PG rated, this may not be the book for you) and at times I felt like covering the pages when people on my train to work were looking over my shoulder. By mid-point in the book I could not put it down and stayed up until 2:00am to finish the book.

Multicultural Erotic Contemporary

Lydia has started working for a new advertising company and pretty much keeps to herself by keeping everyone at a distance, especially her boss, Ryder. Lydia feels an attraction for Ryder that she down plays as well as ignores him any chance she gets. Ryder feels fed up and frustrated. Since Lydia's arrival to his company, Ryder looks forward to seeing her each morning and tries everything for her to notice him. Nothing is working, so for Ryder desperate times calls for desperate measures. He has an advertising account that he will need to travel for and he will get Lydia to go with him and be his right hand on the job. He has not told Lydia that it is at an exclusive erotic resort. This trip sets events in motion for both Ryder and Lydia on the resort and home at figuring out their relationship at work and in their private life.

This book was a big WOW for me. The moment I read the first page and Ryder's thoughts, I knew I was going to enjoy this book. I thought this story was so so so so good. Ryder was a super Alpha male; he was so possessive, obsessive, and paranoid when it came to Lydia and I loved it. All this was new to Ryder, he is so use to the females throwing themselves at him, that he was out of his element when it came to Lydia. He was working so hard at trying to impress Lydia that it drove him crazy, literally. Lydia has her reasons for keeping Ryder at a distance when it came to office romance. Her past with family and the last guy she dated left her not feeling emotionally good. Throughout the book, as much as she wanted Ryder, she was busy trying to evade Ryder's advances that it drove her crazy as well.
