With our economy in such a downturn with the loss of homes, unemployment rates through the roof, and more people filing for bankruptcy in record numbers, one wonders if we will ever experience anything in abundance again. In Hostile Takeover-God's Plan and Purpose for Your Finances, Author Cedric Dukes gives us a biblical-based way to honor God and be blessed in our finances.

Hostile Takeover outlines, step-by-step, the importance of taking over our finances so that we do not find ourselves falling victim to what is happening in our economy today. As much as we live in this world, God has promised some things in His Word, and what is very key is obedience. In order to obey, one's perspective and understanding of what God's Word says is important.

Next, we must tithe and give our offerings according to what the scripture says, and understand that it is a requirement. Through tithing, the sanctuary is built, and giving offerings keeps the work of God going on. The giving of alms and the firstfruit offering is explained, as it pertains to our giving to others and the overflow that God blesses us with when we give the firstfruit of what God has blessed us to receive.

Not stopping there, Author Dukes shares why we should give; certainly He does not want us to give what we do not have, but we give what we have been blessed to give. With this in mind, we must also learn how to manage our finances, understand debt and how it can hurt us, plan your investments and inheritances wisely, and enjoy the overflow of God's blessings.

I enjoyed reading, Hostile Takeover, the first book that explains simply, yet explicitly, God's plan for us to be financially blessed. Scripture reference is provided and it helps us to realize we do not have to live beneath the privilege of enjoying what God has for us. I recommend this book to everyone who is struggling to understand God's purpose and plan for our financial well-being.

What I appreciate about this book is that it takes a spiritual look at finances and teaches the reader how to apply those skills in their day to day use of money. Secondly, that by taking control of your money through planning and budgeting you can achieve your financial dreams.

There are times when all of our finances get out of hand. What I love about Hostile Takeover: Manifesting God's Plan and Purpose for Your Finances are the biblical techniques and through these techniques Mr. Dukes explains to us how to increase your net worth with investments, inheritance through insurance and real estate. The prayers after each chapter are definitely needed. Reading this book was a great learning experience.

At a time when so many are being effected by the uncertain financial times, author Cedric Dukes provides advise and scripture for people of faith to show how they can see some relief. One of the most profound points the Dukes pushes throughout the book is the importance of giving in order to get. Sounds counter-productive, but he goes to scripture to show how the Bible actually outlines that those who give will be rewarded for their generosity.

Whether you share the author's beliefs or not, this book is one to read so that you might be able to not only understand what some of those around us are facing, but how we might be to provide them just the encouragement and inspiration they need.
