The XL child will actually fit a S to M adult (woman) depending on your dimensions & bust, I had no problem & I'm not too small(5'6"). It's not bulky but does tend to pill after a few washings despite being turned inside out, never dried & washed in a special lingerie bag. They're fairly warm but I still wear 4 layers in 20 F weather.
