3.0 out of 5 stars Key West
I am going to start out saying I love Lacey Alexanders novels. I've read others of hers and I read the previous 2 in the series: French Quarter: Hot in the City, Book 1 and Sin City: Hot in the City, Book 2 which were great, but I found this one a little lacking, probably the lowest stars I've ever given a book of hers. This review is from: Hot in the City: Key West (Paperback)
Lacey Alexander takes blissful hedonism to a whole new level in this blazingly brazen, passionately erotic story where the sun, sand, and sea are your one-way ticket to a wonderfully arousing story set in sunny and beautiful "Key West".

On the day Carrie Marsh, the conservative and responsible, good girl in the family, is to be married to Jon, her high school sweetheart, she finds him in a compromising situation with one of her bridesmaids. She calls the wedding off and decides to go solo on her "honeymoon" to clear her brain and figure out what to do next.

The wildly sexy Chris McCann lives a relatively carefree life under the blazing sun of Key West. Smart, wild and wickedly sinful, he is definitely not afraid to go after what he wants and from the moment he sets eyes on Carrie, what he wants is to knock the innocent angel's halo off kilter.

Carrie is a sexy, shy, innocent little angel the day she arrives in Key West... until the sizzlingly sexy, beach god, Chris McCann, teaches her that trading in her halo for some scorchingly erotic pleasures in his arms is just what she needs to realize that there is, indeed, life after Jon. Will Carrie's innocent angel side, or her daring devilish side prevail? Maybe if Chris is lucky, her angelic and devilish sides will come to the mutual understanding that the unadulterated bliss she finds in his arms can give her the best of both worlds.

"Key West" by Lacey Alexander is the third and final book in the "Hot in the City" series, and I was so disappointed that this story had to end. This has been one of the most erotic, and sexy series of stories I have had the pleasure of reading. I will be anxiously waiting to hear from some of the other sexy men and women that shared in the erotic adventures of "Hot in the City".

5.0 out of 5 stars How hot can it get?, June 6, 2005

Sometimes with series the later books aren't as good as the first books...however that is not the case with this series. This book, the third and final book in the series, is just as hot and steamy and romantic as the first book. I am really sorry to see this series come to end as I have enjoyed learning about the sisters so much.

The characters were well developed as usual for an erotic romance. The but here being (and I know I might get flack comments on this) I just felt that the sex scenes went on and on and on... to the point that I felt my mind wandering off mid way through. The book was long which is good also for an erotic novel since we never get length out of those. But same thing I mentioned before, its full of scenes that just didn't do it for me. I guess there is a fine line of being told whats going on and having it be described. I think in this instance it was a little too told and not described - hence the excessive length of the scenes. And yes as I read this I am getting the bad puns of innuendo. It's a gamble of a read... just beware.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hot, Hot, Hot, May 24, 2011
This book is Hot, Hot, Hot!

The opening starts like many romance stories: jilted bride goes on honeymoon anyway, and decides to have a good time. Where it goes from there is the realm of Lacey Alexander's very fertile imagination. There is a little bit of something for everyone in this book. At its heart, it is a m/f romance, but Carrie decides to "relax" and try new experiences, so the reader is treated to encounters including all varieties and combinations of partners.

I enjoyed the fact that while Carrie was on vacation, Chris and his friends all worked, and plans had to be made around their work schedules. This made it seem a bit more realistic. I also enjoyed the fact that they visited the Hemmingway museum. Not only did it add depth to Carrie's character, it also provided a "respite" from the almost constant sex.

In fact, if I have a negative comment about this story, it is the amount of sex in the book. At times, it almost seems too much, and I looked forward to the sections of the story where Carrie was worrying about her feelings for Chris and what she would do when she went home. It also would have been nice if I could have put the book down from time to time, in order to give myself a little break from the constant sexual interactions. Having said that, I need to add - what a problem to have!

This book is NOT for the faint of heart. However, if you want a story that is so hot you need to put your e-reader down for fear of it spontaneously combusting - download it today!

I loved the two books prior to this in the series and this won't disappoint either. I found Carrie to be a realistic when thrust into this vacation. I found the chemistry booming off the bat with Chris, and the.... experiences and challenges were enough to make this a definate page turner. Loved this book!

I really enjoyed reading this steamy romance. The story was romantic and the sex was hot and fun. I read the first two books in this series but like this one the best.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read together!, July 12, 2011
I received this book as a donation to sell, and my boyfriend and I decided to read it and "spice up" bed time. We read it together, well he read it to me (he has a great voice, no thanks to Radio). We found it a great way to connect late at night when all the kids are sleeping, to be intimate in such a sensual way and to enjoy each other while reading! :) I recommend it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Carrie discovers she can be a libertine, September 5, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Hot in the City: Key West (Paperback)
Of the three "Hot in the City" novels, this is my favorite.
Carrie discovers that on Key West she can leave her inhibitions behind and experience sexual desires and satisfactions unimaginable to her in her staid life in Maryland.
She has the extraordinary good fortune to hook up (yes, that is EXACTLY what she does) with Chris, a hot, adventurous male who also has a tender, loving side to his very masculine nature. (If you're a bit tired of contrived Alpha heroes, Chris will be a joy to meet in this novel.)
My only criticism is of the opening sexual episode when Carrie witnesses another couple having public sex on their hotel balcony--it didn't seem that believable. But there are other episodes of public sex (with Carrie as an eager participant)that are simply hot, hot, HOT (and much more believable)!
Some readers might be put off by the frequent use of the "C" word, but that's a matter of personal taste. Hey, you shouldn't read Lacey Alexander if you don't want to encounter hardcore sex and its vocabulary.
The novel includes substantial casual and lust-driven bisexuality (FFM and MMF threesomes). Of course, I just wish there had also been an orgy or two! Perhaps Lacey could revisit Cole and Amy (the balcony sex pair) in a future book where they manage to lose some of there own inhibitions about sharing! Also, there's a potential story with Carrie, Chris and Shay getting together in an open relationship. (Shay is a sexy, uninhibited gal who introduces Carrie to girl-on-girl sex.) But I guess the FINALLY monogamous HEA formula wouldn't allow that.
Lacey Alexander is a master (mistress?) of vivid descriptions of sexual feelings and encounter. Very sexually arousing and HIGHLY recommended.
