5.0 out of 5 stars Hot Italian cookbook
Victoria Gotti is very thorough in the descriptions of all her recipes. She offers time management tips for preparing many of her dishes. Victoria also adds little personal stories between sections which are written in a heartfelt manner. This cookbook is a must for people who love to cook Italian food.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
I was expecting some very authentic Italian recipes but instead realized that I'm a much better cook than Victoria Gotti.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic :-), September 14, 2010

I watched Victoria's show on A&E and I loved it. Because of that, I was interested in her book and I must say her book doesn't disappoint. Her pizza dough recipe (which I used to make garlic parmesan knots) turned out perfect (in fact better than the recipe I had used eons ago from Betty Crocker). Anyways, her book is entertaining and mouthwatering and I can't wait to try my next recipe from her (I think Sunday Gravy should be next). Ciao :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Gotti's hot italian dish, is one hot italian feast!, June 9, 2006
This review is from: Hot Italian Dish: A Cookbook (Hardcover)
as a gourmet cook, there's not much a cookbook can teach me these days--but, I must say, Gotti has lots of traditional methods and recipes that make preparing the many dishes, taste just like grandma uses to make on Sundays! I bought six to give as gifts--that's how much I liked this book!....Chef Katie....

I found this book for sale at my supermarket in a sad-looking pile of heavily discounted items that no one seemed to want and feel I "rescued" it! It was well worth it!
I don't know much about Italian cooking and I really liked the way Victoria explains the recipes in simple, easy-to-understand steps even I can follow. Many of them turned out very deliciously and I was proud to serve them on my table. She genuinely loves cooking and it shows through and she wants others to enjoy cooking too.
I also liked her stories about her family. Again, this is not a family I know a whole lot about and it was fascinating to read about where she came from and her values, experiences, background, etc.
She is a beautiful lady and she seems to have an equally lovely personality. I am very glad I found the book, she certainly brought good Italian cooking into my home!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Italian Cookbook!, August 26, 2008

I have adored Victoria Gotti and her family since I first got to know them through her television show. This cookbook gave me even more insight to her fun and interesting family. Who could resist a cookbook with such a cute play on words as the title? The recipes are wonderful and her extra little stories she's added make me feel I know her personally. She seems to be a warm and loving Mom and devoted daughter and family member to the Gotti legacy. I miss seeing her on TV. It would have been great to have photos of some of her dishes, just so I have an idea of what they are supposed to look like when I make them. Maybe she can do that in a future cookbook. Who knows? Maybe her sons will become cooks, just like Paula Deen's and have their own cookbooks too! I'd put my name in for a preorder! :-D I wish Victoria all the success in the world. She deserves it. I'll be here whipping up each and every one of her recipes! Thanks, Victoria! Great job!!! We love ya down here in Texas too! Julie Ball, Houston
