Last Jordan Sister Book,
This review is from: Hot Item (Hot Zone, Book 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
Sophie Jordan, the last unmarried Jordan sister and co-owner of The Hot Zone sports management agency, isn't looking for love. When the sparks explode between Sophie and quarterback Riley Nash, it's a toss up to say who's more stunned. Both Sophie and Riley carry baggage from their pasts and neither wants to risk their hearts. Now they must face the feelings that won't go away, along with a stalker who seems determined to bring The Hot Zone to its knees. More problems arise when Riley's daughter is less than happy with the appearance of a serious love interest in Riley's life and has no qualms about letting her displeasure be known. With all these forces working against them, can Riley and Sophie take a chance on love?
Hot Item is the third and final book in the Jordan sister's trilogy and I had been waiting impatiently for it. Without a doubt I wasn't disappointed! Hot Item delivers exactly what I am looking for in a contemporary romance. Sophie and Riley steam through the pages while Sophie's Uncle Yank appears to add his unique humor and follblies to the story. Readers who loved the first two Hot Zone books as much as I did will want to immediately pick up and devour Hot Item. Readers can't go wrong with any of the Jordan sister's trilogy and readers who haven't read them yet have missed three wonderfully romantic and sexy stories. Melissa Reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed

Best of the series!,

This review is from: Hot Item (Hot Zone, Book 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
Successful sports PR agent Sophie falls finds herself in hot water when she is flying solo at the agency during the NFL draft and her "uncle" Spence is outed by a reporter and goes on the lam. Further complicating matters is her attraction to star quarterback Riley Nash who is Spence's long lost son and wants his parentage kept secret to protect his adoptive father's political career. When the two take a road trip, sparks fly with the most unlikely duo.
"Item" marks the third installment in Phillip's "Hot Zone" trio featuring a family run sports PR agency owned by orphaned sisters raised by their bachelor uncle. It's also the best of the series, packing an emotional wallop that started in the first ("Stuff") was lacking in the last one ("Number").

Cute Chick Lit - Fun Summer Read 3-1/2*,

In the final book of Phillips' HOT ZONE trilogy Sophie, the last of the Jordan sisters has finally met her match. It's not as if Sophie hasn't noticed the very handsome NFL quarterback Riley Nash, oh she has! Unfortunately, his devil may care life style is simply not compatible with the always in control co-owner of THE HOT ZONE, the industry's top sports management agency.
When a news leak sends top agent and family friend Spencer Atkins into hiding and the agency into a tailspin, Sophie not only has to contend with the fallout of his disappearance but Riley Nash's very personal reasons and insistence on sticking to her like glue until he's found! Incompatible or not, the rush Sophie feels at Riley's nearness is raising havoc with trying to remain cool and in control. Before she knows it losing control with Riley's arms around her is definitely something she could get used to. The third book in a sports themed trilogy it is completely stand alone with on going references early on of sisters Annabelle and Mikki. This reviewer was quickly brought up to speed and not left floundering to fit pieces together because of not having read the first two books. I liked that each of the protagonists problems of commitment was out in the open with regard to giving in to the passion they felt for one another and helped to keep this perfectly paced romance from going stale. Their love scenes and physical reaction to each other was hotly sensual and passionate even though Sophie's concerns of allowing herself to love someone before she loses them gets straightened out in good time. The mystery of who was sabotaging the agency was interesting but I found I had figured out it out very early in the read. Bottom line, I imagine most would find this to be a pleasant read to enjoy while soaking up the sun on the beach this summer. Marilyn Rondeau, RIO - Reviewers International Organization

This book kept me turning the pages way past my bedtime into the wee hours of the morning. I just couldn't put it down. I love Sophie's story and her hang ups. I felt Carly did her justice with the way things played out. The sparks between Sophie and Riley Nash are intense. Great book...definately a keeper on my bookshelf.

This book is another winner by Carly Phillips. The book ends the series which is the only sad part about this book. The book is a great summer read with terrific chemistry between Sophie and Riley.

If you want a great sports romance try See Jane Score. This was not enjoyable. The characters were not likeable. Riley was a self absorbed weanie, and Sophie anal and uptight. There was no courtship, just two people who have nothing in common arguing about how they have nothing in common.

Sophie Jordan is a play by the rules kind of girl. She's highly organized and constantly tries to manage the lives of everybody around her. The recent article exposing sports agent Spencer Atkins as gay and his subsequent disappearance has thrown Sophie's neat orderly life into chaos. She's frantically trying to regain control of her own life, the sports players the Hot Zone represents, and in a race against time to find Spencer before the football draft.
Riley Nash has done everything he could think of to garner his birth father, Spencer Atkins's, approval. Not once has Spencer ever acknowledged Riley as his son. With Spencer sexual preference being exposed by the media, Riley's concerned that the reporters will dig into Spencer's past and uncover the truth about Riley's parentage which could be disastrous to his stepfather's political campaign. Riley's also concerned about what his teenage daughter's reaction to the news would be. Riley will just have to find Spencer before the media does and convince him to maintain his silence about their connection. Spencer had been missing for three days before Sophie decided to try to track him down. She can fully understand and appreciate his need to hide out for a while but his clients are demanding to speak with him and the only way to appease everyone and get her own life back to semi-normalcy is to find Spencer. No way would Sophie ever have guessed that quarterback Riley Nash would show up in her office demanding to speak with Spencer. He's not even one of Spencer's clients and Sophie has no idea that Riley is Spencer's son until Riley told her. What started out as a stressful situation has suddenly gotten much worse because Sophie has been fighting her attraction to Riley for a very long time and looks like they'll be in close contact until Spencer is found. Thanks to Spencer's personal secretary, Sophie now has the address and telephone number of Spencer's eccentric sisters in Fort Lauderdale and nobody's answering the phone when she tries calling, Sophie intends to make the trip to speak with them in person. She wasn't counting on Riley accompanying her or the uncontrollable desire that flares to life between them. HOT ITEM is the final book in Carly Phillips HOT ZONE trilogy. As with every book by Ms. Phillips I've read, this one promises to be a hit as well. In addition to the romance between the two main characters (which is highly entertaining to read), there is an interesting subplot involving Riley's relationship with his daughter as well as his ex-wife. I have to confess, I love how anal-retentive and highly controlled Sophie is, it's quite interesting to imagine her trying to function outside her normal constraints. If you're like me and haven't read the first two books in the HOT ZONE series, don't worry, this book can stand alone but, after reading this one I will be buying both HOT NUMBER and HOT STUFF. I need to know how Sophie's sisters end up with the hunks they've married. Chrissy Dionne (courtesy of Romance Junkies)

A Hot Read & A Keeper,
By
This review is from: Hot Item (Hot Zone, Book 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is the final story in the Hot Zone trilogy......and a great read. Sophie Jordan is the middle sister, and co-owner of family business. She is a highly organized person, who tries to manage everything and everyone. When it comes to light that Spencer Atkins, Uncle Yanks friend and recent business partner, is gay he disappears and goes into hiding. Sophie's world is thrown out of control. Riley Nash is a superstar NFL quarterback, who is also looking for Spencer, because he is his biological father, and Riley wants to make sure that Spencer in no way jeopardizes his step-father's political career as a Senator with aspirations of going to the White House. Riley has always been one to do things his own way, even if it meant not following the rules. When Sophie finally tracks Spencer to Florida, she is astounded to find that Riley has every intention of going with her to find him. This presents double trouble with Sophie as she has always been attracted to Riley but never wanted to follow up on it. But working together closely like they have to in order to resolve the situation has the sparks flying between them and the heat turned up. As well there is the teenage daughter of Riley's from his marriage break-up who he does anything in the world for. Weaving all these together and making an interesting read Lori has again penned a terrific love story to say the least. This final book of the trilogy has everything a true romantic is looking for, adventure, heat, resistance and more. I recommend this book, and if you have not read the others in this series, Hot Stuff and Hot Number then you are missing out on some real winners. This trilogy is as hot as the name infers.
