good but....,
This review is from: The Hot Line (Paperback)
I picked up this book on a whim and it was good but sometimes the language between the two lovers was so cheesy! I kept saying to myself 'A man would NEVER say that!'

The Hot Line by Cathryn Fox is broken down into three parts. Each one is centered on a sexy firefighter.
Part One: Sara and Mitch Sara is in Chicago for her best friend's wedding when she meets bad boy Mitch Adams. The sexual awareness between them is instantaneous. His pal Nick (the groom-to-be) warned him to stay away from her; she's not one for casual flings and his fiancé doesn't want to see her best friend get hurt. Meanwhile, Sara's friend gives her a card with a number to call for a "fully equipped" firefighter to come and take care of your "fire." She calls the hotline and he comes to the house. She tells herself to remember to keep her emotions out of it, keep it purely physical, just for research for an article for the Chicago-based magazine she wants to work for. Mitch realizes she's special because, unlike all the other women he's been with, she cares about giving him a fantasy too. She cares about his pleasure, not just her own. Both are afraid the other just wants a fling, so they hide the deeper feelings that are developing. Never mind protecting Sara's heart - how can Mitch keep from losing his own? Sara and Mitch's story is scorchingly erotic, some of the hottest sex I've read. Cathryn Fox really knows how to make her characters come alive. Just as I was bracing myself for some prolonged angst, the characters delivered a pleasant surprise with intelligence, honesty and quick thinking. I loved it. Part Two: Jenna and Dean Jenna designs lingerie, and Cassie (the bride-to-be) has asked her to put together a show for her friends before the wedding. She's been lusting over Dean's perfect body since the first time she saw him, but can't imagine he'd be attracted to someone like her. She thinks he's more likely to be into someone like the thin model she hired to work her lingerie show. Unfortunately, the model is sick at the last minute, so Jenna reluctantly models the sexy lingerie herself. When Dean catches an eyeful of the delectable, curvy Jenna, he's mesmerized. How can he help Jenna find the confidence to let herself go? I absolutely loved Dean's methods for helping Jenna gain her confidence and explore her sexuality. There's an incredible depth that makes Jenna and Dean's story irresistible. Readers will enjoy seeing Jenna blossom with the help of Dean's caring attention. Part Three: Megan and Brady Megan was married to a selfish "house hippo" so she isn't looking for a serious relationship. Brady is determined to show her he's different. He wants to pamper her and show her he appreciates her. Circumstances conspire to throw the two together, as they end up saving the day by cooking together for the wedding. She's worried he's too good to be true; he's incredibly patient and understanding. Can he convince her to risk her heart? Readers will not be disappointed with this cute and very sexy romance. All three stories in The Hot Line are short enough that the angst isn't dragged out too long, but they're long enough to develop the characters and build the start of a relationship. That's a fantastic formula for an emotionally satisfying book. The three heroes are mind-blowingly fabulous; the heroines are intelligent and likeable. What's not to love? 4 1/2 Kisses, 2 Peppers (hot M/F/M ménage with firefighters (implied), voyeurism/exhibitionism) ~Lindy Reviewer, TwoLips Reviews, LLC www.TwoLipsReviews.com

Are you burning up? In need of some hunky firefighter, who carries a hose and knows his way around fires, to douse your flames? Then call 555-HEAT and help will be on its way.
At least thats what these heroines found in each of their stories. Three seriously sexually frustrated women, who happen to be in Chicago for their friend's wedding, find themselves attracted (thats putting it mildly) to the firefighter groomsmen. These men, aside from their firefighting duties, work to answer a *HOT LINE*. A woman calls, and a man is dispatched to take care of her needs asap. Whether she needs: ample research for a sexy story, to break out of her shell and bring out her inner exhibitionist (with more than one man), or she is in serious need of pampering and tender loving care, they've got a man for the job. And they guarantee to leave you satisfied. This book was OK. Its geared towards those who are looking for short erotic reads. And if you can get past the fact that these men are, in essence, prostituting themselves then you might find this book extremely titillating. Basically it prescribes to the hot sex = love notion. Not much plot here, in fact there is not much talking at all. More like a ton of moaning and grunting/growling. Just lots and LOTS of sex. And if it wasn't actually stated that the hero's are fire fighters, the readers would have no idea. Because they don't fight fires! At least not those that burn down buildings. As an aside, readers should be warned that the second story contains menage a trios (which is NOT disclosed on the back cover blurb -hate when publishers do that!). The characters are all interesting (that is, when they are actually talking) enough in their own way. And the plot moves along nicely. Fortunately, Fox (author) adds a bit of variety to each of her stories, so the sex scenes don't become monotonous. Definitely a light and super steamy read. I suspect fans of Ellora's Cave and followers of Lora Leigh and Sarah Mccarty will enjoy this anthology. Not really my cup of tea. I prefer more developed plots and characters (and skip the menage). So if your in the mood to indulge your secret fire fighter fantasy, this scorching read may be up your alley.

Could anything be hotter than a hunky fireman head over heels in love? Yep. How about THREE hunky firemen head over heels in love?? Cathryn Fox delivers the goods in her novel The Hot Line, releasing March 4, 2008. This collection of sensual romances revolving around a firehouse in Chicago is just the thing to usher in the warmer months this spring!
This particular firehouse has a special number for women looking for a night of unforgettable passion with a fireman ready and willing to fulfill their fondest fantasies. But three firemen in particular stoke the blaze a lot hotter when they turn up the heat on the women of their dreams! ~Fever~ Working for a small town paper back in Trenton, Iowa is hardly the stuff a reporter's dreams are made of. When Sara Jack is given the exclusive number for The Hot Line, she knows she has stumbled into a career-making story that will guarantee her a job at a big Chicago newspaper. It's all about the story - that's the only reason she is calling The Hot Line. Yeah, right... Mitch Adams is a no-strings attached playboy, good for a fling but not into relationships. That's the warning Sara's friend Cassie gives her concerning the sexy firefighter. Suddenly, nothing sounds better than an out of town fling with none other than Mitch himself, and The Hot Line is her ticket to a night of pleasure she is sure Mitch can deliver on. But flings have a way of becoming so much more when you least expect it... Although I loved all of the men in The Hot Line, I think that Mitch Adams is my favorite. Maybe it is the whole misunderstood bad boy who has just never found the right woman thing he has going on, but he totally got to me. He may be a playboy at first, but that certainly all seems to change for him the moment he lays eyes on charming small town girl, Sara. And what isn't there to like about Sara? Although delightfully guileless, she doesn't hesitate at participation in some very sexy role playing games with the hunky fireman of her dreams, showing him she is more than eager to fulfill his own fantasies - something that takes him very much by surprise. With their easy banter and inventive role-playing, this couple entertains us with a fun and light-hearted romance that made me giggle more than once. But don't let those giggles fool you - there is more than enough heat to go along with those laughs in this hot little story! ~Sirens~ Jenna Powers has come a long way from the chubby little girl with braces she used to be to a beautiful and talented lingerie designer with her own budding business. Scheduled to do an important lingerie show by her friend Cassie, things turn disastrous when her model falls ill at the very last minute. With no available stand-in, things turn even more disastrous - Jenna must model her lingerie personally. The only thing going right is that the sexy fireman she's been fantasizing about left before the show started. If she has to make a fool out of herself, at least it won't be in front of Dean Beckman... Dean can hardly believe his eyes when he returns from a liquor run to find Jenna modeling a Siren-red negligee in front of a room full of people! He's been dreaming of seeing the buxom beauty in the lingerie she designs, but never thought he would have the chance. But Dean is never one to let an opportunity slip by him... I said earlier in this review that Mitch was my favorite, but Dean Beckman sure did give him a run for his money! With a unique blend of subtle dominance and sensitivity heightened by his psychology studies, Dean is quick to recognize Jenna's physical insecurities and resolves to see her through them. Refusing to let her hide from either him or herself, he forces her to see herself through his eyes, to feel her own beauty and femininity, giving her a gift as precious as his love - self-confidence. What woman has never experience insecurities similar to those that prey on Jenna's confidence? Having spent her youth overweight and teased by her classmates, she has never shaken the image of herself as frumpy, even though her looks have certainly grown out of that description. Although uncertain at first, she follows Dean's lead and allows him to employ a rather unorthodox method of changing her self-image... Once they work past her issues, they embark on some very steamy love scenes guaranteed to set off sparks worthy of any five-alarm fire! ~Flash Fire~ Sous Chef Megan Wagner has a way of speaking before thinking, and what she is usually thinking about these days is the hotter than hot firefighter Brady Wade. Brady, in turn, has a way of turning her words and the situation to their mutual advantage in the sexiest of ways... But Brady isn't out for a quick romp, he wants forever with the sassy little cook. Convincing divorcee Megan he is nothing like her deadbeat ex-husband is going to take some work, but he has cooked up a plan guaranteed to sweep her off her feet... The third story in Ms. Fox's The Hot Line is perhaps one of the most poignant. Here is a woman who, having been burned badly before, is afraid to trust in love again. Too many of us can identify with Megan on this score. Although afraid to open herself up emotionally, it does not prevent her from enjoying a little one on one with Brady, which is just the first step in his multi-layered plan to slip past her defenses. Doing for others comes naturally for Brady, and doing for Megan is more than his pleasure. And that is his secret weapon to showing Megan how completely opposite he is from her ex, who expected everything to be done for him. In the end, Megan realizes what Brady is offering and is surprised to find herself eager and ready to take him up on it - a loving partnership of equals in a give and take relationship that has all it needs to go the distance.

Hot, hot, hot!,

The Hot Line is a discreet phone line that the sexy firefighters from Station 419 set up, to quench the fires of women in need.
Fever When sweet Sara Jack arrives in Chicago for Cassie's wedding, she's hoping to put small town Iowa behind her and embrace the worldly life in the big city, maybe even break into reporting for a savvy magazine. The Hot Line is just the topic for a scorching article. Just thinking about those delicious firemen sends her libido into fiery overdrive. Good thing sexy firefighter Mitch Adams is just the man to put out her fires. Sirens Cassie's friend Jenna Powers may look like a confident, professional lingerie designer on the outside, but her inner siren is buried under self-conscious thoughts about her body. Searingly sensual firefighter Dean Beckman has been lusting after curvy Jenna ever since she arrived in town for his friend's wedding. When Jenna calls The Hot Line to help her out of a binding predicament, Dean not only rushes to the rescue, he unleashes her inner sex kitten by peeling away her insecurities one by one. Flash Fire Divorcee Megan Wagner is the third friend in this trio of stories to support Cassie in her Chicago nuptials. A fabulous chef, she lusts after equally good cook, firefighter Brady Wade. Brady's fallen for the sensual and uninhibited Megan, and even though she's vowed to not get involved, he's about to show her just how good things between them can be. Cathryn Fox has a winner with The Hot Line: three sexy stories with daring women and scorchingly sexy, firefighting men. All three novellas are fun and quick reads. These women have no time to lose as their friend's wedding is in only a few days, so they get down to business pretty quickly. Their chosen firefighters are only too happy to put out a few fires. The Hot Line should come with a warning. The chemistry between these three couples is hotter than a three-alarm fire, so make sure to have a cold glass of water near you, or a fire extinguisher if you burst into flames! It'll have women everywhere searching their local communities for Hot Lines of their own. Courtesy of Fallen Angel Reviews ([...])

Have you ever wondered what sexy firefighters get up to in their off hours? The Hot Line is an escort service with the willing firemen of Station 419 satisfying every desire for a reporter, a lingerie designer and a chef.
Fever `Fever' Sara Jack is in Chicago for a friend's wedding. Thinking to do an article about The Hot Line, she meets up with sexy Mitch Adams who seems to be more than willing to satisfy her every desire. `Sirens' Jenna Powers designs lingerie. Too bad she isn't as self-confident about her body as she is about her designs. Dean Beckman noticed Jenna right away when she arrived in town for his friend's wedding. When she calls The Hot Line it is Dean who comes to her assistance, showing her just how sexy she really is. Flash Fire "Flash Fire' Chef Megan Wagner harbors a desire for sexy firefighter and stationhouse cook Brady Wade. Megan is fully prepared to have a no-strings-attached affair, but Brady wants more. The Hot Line by Cathryn Fox is sure to be a fan favorite, sexy firefighters who are eager to please. Who could resist that? Dean, Brady and Mitch are heroes to raise temperatures so be prepared to have a cold drink handy. The love scenes are well portrayed and appropriate to the story and the chemistry is off the charts. The storylines are smooth and flowing with plenty of action to keep the reader happy. The characters are all well fleshed out and the details vivid, enhancing the storylines at every turn. The Hot Line makes a girl want to find a fireman of her own. Scarlet reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed |
