5.0 out of 5 stars Good Starter Book for Resources
When I first found out I was pregnant, I honestly didn't feel pregnant nor was I really ready to embrace pregnancy. Enter this book. I knew I had to start somewhere, and somehow, this book with its freshness and peppy woman-to-woman talk really appealed to me. As I enter my 17th week, I have gone back to it for resources and just a review of some sorts. The book is...

3.0 out of 5 stars good for some, a fluff book with excellent resources
This book is okay if you're in your twenties, fashion conscious, and a nervous, first time mom. 3.0 out of 5 stars good for some, a fluff book with excellent resources, May 31, 2010
This book is okay if you're in your twenties, fashion conscious, and a nervous, first time mom. However, as someone who's been a parent for almost a decade, is nearly 40, fashion conscious, and expecting again, I have one word for you: Resources!!!! I skimmed the 1st 114 pages that were useless to me; I don't care about Trista Sutter's birthing experience, I know how to handle the issues that seemed monumental the 1st time, but seem frivolous now, like how to handle unwanted advice, input, etc. I also think parts of the book are ridiculous, like ringing bells in your baby's room before decorating it, or, on p.105 it says that pregnancy makes you dumb, and to use it as an excuse. If you can get past the grammatical errors, and fluffy, well merchandised aspects of the book, you will find it has a plethora of outstanding resources. I could spend hours online, but all the work has been done for me. This time around, I'm confident in what I want, and really what I don't want/need. I refuse to let motherhood impinge my style or comfort, and this book has all the go-to websites for gorgeous nursing wear, and I haven't even made it through the dozens of decorating resources. I relish the idea of a new baby again, but I'm also excited to spend more money on myself this time on quality necessities that look beautiful, instead of a mountain of useless, expensive items the baby doesn't need.

The book is divided by month and as I am now about 4 months preggo, I answered til then. I first bought this on Kindle, but found so many resources I wanted to bookmark that I bought it on paperback. I don't regret buying it a bit; the book is now studded with Post-it flags! Thank goodness for this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly enjoyed the book!, April 3, 2011

I'm not usually a fan of these types of books. I will flip through them and find them a bit off putting.
I saw this book in target and i have to say i was drawn in by the cover! I'm glad i was! I really enjoyed the book! (I actually came home and ordered it for my kindle). I really liked what she had to say and the chapters were great. I really appreciated the little bits on food she put in. She gives food tips and ideas that are healthy choices but yet seem appetizing. And all the tips on how to pamper yourself.

I also love the websites she puts up and how she links them, ie: if you're wanting to splurge or if you're wanting to save or if you're going green. She also talks about lots of organic products too.

This is a book i will save for when i next have a "bundle of joy" :P!

3.0 out of 5 stars Great brand suggestions, but not the most helpful, March 22, 2011
By
I loved all the specific suggestions for websites and brands throughout, providing extra suggestions for those eco-minded or budgeting moms out there, but the author tried to straddle the medical vs anecdotal categories too much. It was not as factually informative as other medical books like Mayo Clinic's and was not as funny and straightforward as Girlfriend's Guide.

I bought this for my pregnant daughter, and she loves it. It's full of fun, useful ideas. She says it's muchb better than all the usual pregnancy advice books out there.

Great book if you're a fashion-conscious mama. This book gives great, humorous insight on how to steer clear of turning into "frumpy mummy", or just giving up on yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Hot Mom's to be Handbook, August 15, 2008
This review is from: The Hot Mom To Be Handbook (Paperback)
I read the original Hot Mom's Handbook, and loved it. I bought this for a friend who is expecting and she couldn't put the thing down. We all sometimes need a little motivation that we perhaps aren't recieving from outside sources, and I have to say both of these books have done the trick for many women. Thanks!!! ;)

5.0 out of 5 stars Baby Bumps, April 11, 2008
This review is from: The Hot Mom To Be Handbook (Paperback)
With all the attention around who is having who's baby, and was that or wasn't that a baby bump, I'm so happy that Jessica Denay wrote a book that can help everyday women get and stay "hot" during pregnancy without a personal celebrity stylist. I survived wearing sweats! If only I could be pregnant now when it's hip and cool. But its more than fashion in this Womb With A View.

Jessica Denay did a great job with this book. She covers everything from morning sickness to blogging the baby! She gives you tips on unique and memorable activities for every month along the way that are sure to create wonderful memories while you watch your child grow.

3.0 out of 5 stars The Hot Mom to Be Handbook, June 14, 2011

I saw the sequel to this book at Target and purchased it as a shower gift for a friend's daughter. When I was invited to another baby shower recently, I ordered this 'pre-baby' version. I haven't read it, but the mom-to-be seemed very pleased by the volume.
