Warning - Not a new release,
By
This review is from: Hot Rocks (Kindle Edition)
This is just a Warning message and doesn't review the story which is good, but not one of my favorites. This is one half of the previously released Remember When. The companion volumn, and the other half of the story, is Big Jack. The full 'Remember When' book is available on kindle for 6.39 so there is no reason to buy half the story for the same price. So be careful - I'm tempted to just buy anything from Nora Roberts that I haven't heard of before, but her publishers are getting tricky.

Reissued under another name,
By
This review is from: Hot Rocks (Mass Market Paperback)
I was very excited to find this book at my favorite grocery store this last Saturday (before the release date) AND ALMOST purchased it until I saw in fine print on the cover that stated it had been previously released. Sure enough, I found the book was released in the anthology "Remember When" - two good stories by Nora Roberts and her alter author J.D. Robb. This is not to detract from the story - which is actually a good one - but an admonishment to her publishers. Roberts fans should check her website which actually lists new releases AND points out reissued books. When in doubt, check there first.

Not a new book!!!,

I was very disappointed to find that this was a re-release. If I had purchased this at the bookstore,I would have known it was the same book as the one in Remember When, which I had already purchased. The date of publication was this month, so I took that as it was a new book.

Irritated,

This review is from: Hot Rocks (Mass Market Paperback)
Yes, this is the first half of an already released Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb Book. It's a good book so it's really irritating that people give it a crappy review because they bought a book without looking to see what it was about first! If you people would pay attetion you would have seen it's the same story. And FYI, the book " Big Jack" Coming out in February is the second half of the story so don't run out and buy that one then complain! There are poeple out there who have never read the book and now won't read it because they see it got all one star reviews. Next time, Please rate a book according to how you liked it and start off with the point that it is a re-release if you want to warn everyone.

Re-release,
This review is from: Hot Rocks (Mass Market Paperback)
This review is not on the content of the book, which in and of itself is a good NR story. However, this is merely a re-release of the first half of "Remember When". There may be new content added, but if you've read "Remember When", you've got the story already.

Get it at the library...as Hot Rocks or the full book Remember When,

This was not one of Roberts' better stories when it was first published. Reprinting 1/2 of the book and putting a new cover on it doesn't improve it. Get it at the library and purchase one of her upcoming *new* releases.

Greed rules,
By
This review is from: Hot Rocks (Mass Market Paperback)
I am sick to death of Nora Roberts getting rich at the cost of her devoted readers.Changing the title of a book, releasing it as a new book, and then trying to lay the blame on the publisher is blatant disregard for all those readers who have been faithfully buying everything she's ever had published. It would be different if it had only happened once, but this is at least the eighth book I've bought, or almost bought because of her greed. I'm done with this. I'll not buy another. I freely admit it about breaks my heart to give up the "In Death" series, but she pulled the same stunt on it last year, by releasing, "Three in Death," and then, "Big Jack," which were all prior releases under other titles. You will never convince me that a proven money-maker for a publisher, which Roberts certainly is, does not have enough clout to at the very least, get the publisher to stamp the cover. "REPRINT" or "RERELEASE"

Sometimes I think Nora puts information into a tin can, shakes it up and writes about whatever spills out. This book surprised me, it turned out to be a fast, fun read. I'm not sure I'd like to read any more about a loser like Big Jack tho.

Danny's daughter,
By
This review is from: Hot Rocks (Kindle Edition)
Not only is this a re-issue it is not even a complete one. In the original book the murder happens and the first story ends. The second half of the book was a J.D. Robb Eve Dallas where she solves the murder. What is going on with Nora Roberts? She has always been my favorite author and I frequently buy her reissues to update my keeper shelf but this is beneath her. I am SO disappointed.
