This album is for us who remember the days of muscle cars, drag racing and cruising on Friday and Saturday nights. Many of the songs on this album were commissioned by the Big-3 Automakers to be made by famous rock groups. In fact, many of these groups performed at local car dealerships when the new year cars were previewed in September or October of each year. SS-396 by Paul Revere and the Raiders was song for that famous Chevrolet engine placed in the 1966 Chevelle Super Sport as well as the 1967 Camaro. The 409 cubic inch engine was brought out in 1962 - 1963. So, come on back to a time of cruising and dreaming about your ideal muscle car. Set back, listen to the roar and smell the smoking "red-line" tires as they come off the line down a deserted stretch of road.

Fantastic Collection of fun, grooving music. SS-396 alone makes it worth it! Great fun! Buy it!!

My 6 year old loves listening to the oldies with his Pap so, when he got this for Christmas, he loved it. He cranks it up and plays with his hot rod cars. And the cover makes it that much more cool.

Great cd with many classic car songs you can't hear anywhere else. These are the older 1950's and 1960's songs that bring back all the memories.

I like to listen to the old music that I grow up with so I order this one for starters.

This is a great album for those of us who enjoy tributes to the cars of the 60s and 70s. The songs remember the times of the size of our engines, drag racing and the joy of cruising Saturday nights. Some forgotten ballads are in this album such as SS-396 by Paul Revere and the Raiders. This was a time when the Big-3 auto makers paid popular groups to immortalize their products and even hired them to do promotional events at the unveiling of the new car years. Ah yes, set back and listen to the songs and you will swear you hear the roar of those large block engines and the smell of rubber burning on the ashpalt -- so come back to a time of "real muscle cars!"
