Hotshot is my favorite.,

This review is from: Hot Shot - Transformers Cybertron Deluxe (Toy)
My four-year old loves Hotshot in all his reincarnations (Armada, Energon, Cybertron). This one doesn't seem to come apart as easily as the others. He's gotten a lot of mileage out of this toy and highly recommends it to his friends.

He looks more complex than Armada and Energon hot shot. He has energon blades that can make him faster in car mode and more deadlier. He also comes with a energon gun and missle lunchers hidden behind his car doors. He looks a little bulky. Something does happen to him but I am not going to tell you! Get this toy if you like Hot shot or just this Hot shot.

Best Tranformer I've Ever Had!,

What can I say that hasn't already been said about this toy? The transformation is simple enough. The articulation is just amazing (this thing's got joints!). The legs even spread apart. The spring-loaded missile launcher is a nice touch. The Cyber Planet Key feature does its job and so far I have no problem with it. You can also ride it around like any other toy car, but it doesn't get so far with those rugged plastic wheels. In any case, the Transformers have come a long way since Generation 1. And the features from the Cybertron line truly make this bot a hotshot.

A simple transformation sequence which makes what looks like a complicated figure. Adequately poseable for action scenes, but I found his Planet Key feature of pop-out tail fins to be somewhat underwhelming. They also had a tendency to pop out on their own until I tightened their screws. The missile launchers mentioned by the previous reviewer are molded into the doors and only for looks or imagination play. Not a bad figure, but not the best of the series. He's a fan favorite, though, so he'll probably be sought after.

Out of the four new Deluxe TRANSFORMERS, HOT SHOT is by far my favorite. He is bigger and taller than the other 3, DIRT BOSS, LANDMINE, and THUNDERCRACKER, and he has the best facial sculpt so far I've seen on a TRANSFORMER for a long while.
As stated before his transformation is very simple, and his PLANET KEY feature is pretty lame. Just like the last reviewer, I had to remove his back panel and tighten the screws to keep his wings from popping up. I do not care for this PLANET KEY gimmick at all, at least with ARMADA you had an extra MINI-CON robot. I'd say he'd be pretty fun for the kids, but for me he's going on a shelf. He's a welcome addition compared to his PLAYSCHOOL looking ARMADA version and his blocky ENERGON one.

Pros: cool color scheme; cool, sleek vehicle design
Pros or Cons: simple transformation; dragster wings are cool but not really worth the key trouble Cons: attachable missile launcher adds firepower, but takes away from Hot Shot's aerodynamics and overall appearance

Unlike Hot Shot's previous two incarnations from the Energon Saga, this one neither has an ugly robot mode, nor is fragile. Instead, this one is one of the best Transformers toys of all time.
First of all, the Transformers Cybertron toy line introduces something new- Cyber Keys. They may just be a gimmick by Hasbro, but they sure are cool! Each Transformer from the Cybertron toy line has at least one spot where you can insert a Cyber Key. Once you do, something happens (sword appears, wheels get spikes, etc.) For Hot Shot, two speed "wings" flip out. In the TV show, they're pretty useless in robot mode, though I guess you could ram into people or something... in vehicle mode, they really crank up Hot Shot's speed to the next level! Hot Shot also accomplishes something that very few other Transformers have done- he looks great in robot and vehicle mode, his parts don't break off easily, AND he's easy to transform. In vehicle mode, he resembles a blue Chrysler ME 412, a pretty good resemblance too. In robot mode, Hot Shot is not to disappoint; he accurately depicts his character in the TV show. Plus, he has several points of articulation for various poses. My only complaint is that his Autobot symbols, especially the one on his shoulder, rub off after a while. Overall, this Autobot, though a bit pricey, is a fantastic toy and one of the best in the Cybertron line. Oh, and the gun is a nice addition as well.

I like this toy and I really like that he has missiles!! But the thing that I don't like about him is that his legs don't move side to side very easily. (This is a review posted by my 7 year old son)
