Hot Toys' The Dark Knight: 1:6 Scale Batman

I must confess and say that I was originally not going to get this "Dark Knight" Batman. But after reading so many glowing reviews online I decided to take a chance and get it. I haven't seen the Hot Toys "Batman Begins" figure to compare, but I can say without hesitation that this "Dark Knight" Batman is truly amazing and a sight to behold. As expected from a Hot Toys figure, the detail is simply the best out there and is the most faithful representation of the new suit that Batman wears in "The Dark Knight."

As much as I praise the overall figure, I'm especially blown away by the extra headsculpt of Christian Bale/Bruce Wayne that is included. Whichever photos of it that you've seen on the web don't begin to do it justice. I've noticed that all these photos (even the photo on the back of the box itself) give it a waxy look and a rather unnatural fleshtone. Well, the actual sculpt is not waxy at all and has a very natural fleshtone. Simply put, it's as if Christian Bale himself is inside the box waiting to come out. It remains to be seen whether the Harvey Dent pre-accident headsculpt will surpass it as the best "Dark Knight" non-Joker headsculpt, but Harvey's got his work cut out for him.

As mentioned by the previous reviewer, one small downside of this figure (an issue that unfortunately is present with the other "Dark Knight" figures as well) is that the inside pegs often come out when trying to swap hands. I can't see why these inside pegs couldn't just have been permanently glued inside the wrists. So use caution and not too much force when swapping the hands. Also mentioned already, this figure isn't capable of extreme poses. But the basic poses are easy to manipulate, and as long as you don't try to go for a human pretzel pose there should be no problems.

So far these Hot Toys "Dark Knight" figures have yet to disappoint, and this Batman version is a must-buy. My favorite still remains the Hot Toys' The Dark Knight: 1:6 Scale Bank Robber The Joker figure, but as of now this easily comes in a solid second. Definitely recommended purchase.

In my haste, I made a decision I thought was a good one at the time. I bought the DC Direct DK Batman. At $80, I thought that the reviews were wrong and that I'd be getting a great depiction of the main character in the year's best movie. I was wrong, and I regretted it. Luckily, my patience and decision to wait for this piece to be imported stateside has paid off.

As you may know, Hot Toys went back to the drawing board in September and after listening to their fans, made significant changes to the figure that was oriignally shown. They made the armor and pants tighter, the shoulder pads smaller, and changed the headsculpt to look as though it came straight off the screen with a smaller mouth and longer nose. The result is one of their best pieces, and the best DK batman that will be released.

The suit is made entirely of molded rubber, and the cape is detachable. The figure comes with four extra hands, a mini mine, grapple gun, and two batarangs. The hands are a slight headache in that the pegs come of inside of them, so you have to warm the hands to safely remove the pegs.
The Christian Bale headsculpt was also redone to be more intense, and it looks exactly like him, with visible pores and in the correct light, the facial structure is evident. I personally have mine on display with this headsculpt, as I already have the cowled Takara Batman Begins figure next to him, so having an extra head is a great deal.

The figure is quite posable, but don't think you can get extreme as the nature of the rubber suit will prohibit exaggerated poses. Just outside of a static pose is no problem whatsover. The detailing of the suit is pretty much screen accurate and the suit fits very well with no bulking or bubbling that is sometimes inherent with rubber suits.

The only problem other than the annoying pegs is the stability of the figure. He can be knocked over with a shake of his platform, so I recommend using the included, unobtrusive stand.

Overall, please find some way to come up with the extra money to purchase this Hot Toys version. It is superior in every way to both the Medicom and especially the DC Direct version. It may cost a pretty penny, but if you are a fan of the character or movie, it's well worth it. And in years when these becme rarer, their value increases, so it's a very worthy investment.

this figure of the dark knight batman in his new suit is just amazing by looking at it in the pictures you can easily get this figure even if it is the holidays.




its nicely detailed with the Armour and the suit itself is very much plastic to try to get through And Its Rubbery In The Part There.



This Figure Also Has Some Articulation That The Caped Crusader Had Just Like In The Movie He Moves His Head Up And Down The Arms Can Bend In A Lot Of Different Directions And His Legs Bend As Well And It Is Just Great.


Also The Paint Sculpt I Would Not Worry Too Much About Because It Looks Very Nice And It Is Not Bad At All And No Bad Paint Marks Or Scratches Included On The Figure Because It Does Not Ruin It.




Therefore If You Are Looking For A Better Figure And Just Cannot Seem To Find One Then You Can Always Get It Here Because It Is Sturdy Fragile But Still Nice To Get For Any Type Of Collector Or Bat-Fan I Recommend You Get This Figure Before Its Too Late!


Also He Comes With A Lot Of Accessories That He Can Hold And Some Interchangeable Heads As Well And Some Hands To Go With It.



He Comes With A Utility Belt Which Is Just Amazing And I Am Amazed That Hot Toys Got Into The Movie License And Actually Made This Figure And Its Just Awesome.

It's actually like you have him in your hands, but miniature! It's very realistic, sometimes in a scary way seeing the way the parts move. Very detailed, and it's very cool how many parts he has that can rotate and be swapped over. Comes with plenty of little weapons. I love it. It's a great collectors item.

I like it, yet I had some problems. well for starters I noticed something was weird about his stomach. there is a sort of lump in his stomach, almost like a pot belly, its very strange but not a big deal. I thought I got a damaged one because I did'nt notice it in any pictures. but when I looked at pictures and video of actual customers I noticed theres had it to. another thing when you go to hot toys official site it describes, and pictures that the batarangs attach them to the belt. you can not do that with the final product. again minor fault. I guess another thing is that after I bought it I found out that hot toys was making a newer better version, which kinda sucks, again not a big deal. Other than that it is actually really cool, its actually my first hot toys figure. and now I'm hooked despite my complaints

This is perfect 1/6 scale Action Figure. I'm not call this is toy, it's best of my collection. Hot toys made a great job and give a lot of detail and face emotion.

I was very impressed with the sculpt, articulation and detail of this figure.
I have tons of Japanese superhero toys and statues, and this is one of the best.
Certainly, the best Dark Knight figure I've ever seen.
Also, very easy to pose for display.

Incredible attention to detail. The rubber "bat suit" means articulation is limited, but for the authenticity of the look, it's well worth it. Cool accessories including batarangs, flash grenade and grappling gun. Pricey, but one of the best 1:6 scale figures out there!
