This review is from: Hot Tuna - 25 Years and Runnin' Live at Sweetwater (DVD)
Some songs in this DVD are a bit messy, but ather ones are great
The best are "Ice age", "I see the light" and "Genesis", some of Kaukonen's best original songs. "Praise the lord and pass the snakes is great too", with that gresat rocking slide guitar. The rendition os the classic TUna song "Hesitation blues" is good also. The worst thing of the performance is Maria Muldaur presence on a Dylan song: it's so useless. Hot Tuna didn't need a tambourine player. Bob Weir is good, anyway. I suggest the DVD "Live at the Fillmore", if you want a real Hot Tuna live performance. |
