Overall this toy is super fun. I like the mechanical portion and it works well. The toy works as advertised. The only issue I have is with construction. I pinched my hands several times trying to put together the twisting ramps. It also required a lot of leverage on my part to connect everything. Just be careful when assembling. The toy comes apart for transport very easily, though! Be careful: Don't bend the plastic parts by force. This is easy to do, but if you are patient it will work out. My son is 7 and enjoys this toy a great deal.

This toy is all flash and no substance. It works. The cars shoot around the track a few times befire they finally wipe out. But the boosters don't seem to have anough torque to recover from one car to the next so if you try to run more than one car at a time, it's likely the second car through the booster will not make it around the loop.

But all that aside, the toy is a bore. My kids (ages 3 and 5) were on FIRE to get this toy up and running and were so excited once it was assembled to play that they could hardly contain themselves. About 15 minutes after they started playing, they lost interest and went back to manually sending their hotwheel cars down the simple track going down the stairs to the basement. The toy just has no substance. You put a car in, it shoots around for a while, then it eventually flips over or something and stops. The end. It was more fun to build having my kids searching for and handing me the right lettered track piece than it was to play with. But I must admit, they were certainly sold on it's packaging hype and flashy layout.

Final word: Fun to watch for a few minutes, but not worth the $40. There are much more engaging ways to entertain a child for that much money.

We first bought this toy for my son's friend (both age 3). His father and I had to assemble the toy in front of 4 very "eager and energetic" kids so that they could start playing it. Assembly was quite easy for being placed under that type of pressure. The track pieces are letter-coded, making it very simple to figure out with/without instructions. For Christmas, I assembled the toy the night before (now I'm a pro) so that he could immediately start playing with it. It's quite durable and my son carried it upstairs to his room with no problems. Another reviewer commented about the fingers getting caught in the wheel. I agree. But, we have taught our son to turn off the machine whenever it jams before trying to fish out the stuck vehicle. No problems! Quick tip: Play with the toy on a hard/smooth surface. We noticed that on carpet the cars don't make it through the track as well as on hardwood floors, etc...makes the fun last and last.

This track is a ton of fun! My son got this as a Christmas gift from his Aunt. It was not fun to build but then none of the tracks are... but what I can say is this track DOES NOT FALL APART! I can't tell you how many times I've had to re-build all of the other race tracks, they always come apart.... not this one.... it has been moved around by both of my sons (6.5 yrs and 3.5yrs) and it is staying put together.... this makes it worth keeping set up all of the time.. it keeps them busy and I don't have a "MOM, can you fix this!" every 5 minutes. Both of my sons really enjoy this track... they put several cars at a time on the track so they have a better chance of knocking the dragon out... the only worry is if the cars they put in are to big they jam the game up... no big deal just turn it off (easy to do) and remove the car... there are spinning wheels that keep the cars going around the track, I kind of worry about them getting a finger stuck in there, but it hasn't happened .... yet

I would buy this track for every kid that loves tracks and hot wheels... it is very entertaining for everyone.

From the moment my 5 1/2 year old and his two Uncles saw this, they loved it. Santa brought the best gift. They spent probably close to an hour playing with this dragon track as soon as my son opened it and I can't tell you how many pictures they thought they needed of it. It's a great track. Went together easy and hours of fun for the WHOLE family!

Of course my 4 years old kid does not care a dime about this noisy toy, bout if he keeps playing over my bed while i try to read... well i may become crazy or trash the Dragon fire track set.

In the other hand, my boy's hand, this is a very nice toy, and so far has provided nice hours of play and joy...

Overlook my old man opinion and think about your kids opinion....they will love it

This toy is fun and cool but it is very loud. My son has auditory sensory issues and this wasn't a good choice for him. He loves it, but won't turn it on.

I gave this to my 4 year old nephew for Christmas. All of the kids enjoyed it. It is very fast and fun to watch. It is really great when the dragon's head pops off. The boys had a blast and each took turns. I had purchased an extra pack of cars for this track so they could run more than one at a time. It was very easy to put together. The only thing is to make sure you turn it off when a car gets jammed. The rubber spinners will burn you if you don't! That is dangerous, especially for the little ones. Other than that, great toy.

I bought the track for my 11 year old son and in his words the track is "Awsome!!!!!!" He calls it sweet and narly and really loves to play it. For christmas he got some expansions to add on to the track.

I bought this toy for my nephew. We opened it up on Christmas morning and he loved it. It was fairly easy to put together once we figured out how the pieces fit.

So far, so good!
