I bought this for my 6 year old son for Christmas and he and my 12 year old are having a blast with it! Car races around the track and, if you put 2 on at the same time, will eventually crash (their favorite part, of course). Assembly directions were a little confusing, but not too terrible. I purchased this at ToysRUs for less than $30, so was shocked to come here and see $70 - not sure why the discrepancy, but you might want to shop around before making the purchase here (Will they even approve a review that says that? We'll see...).
So, my husband and I purchased this toy for our son for xmas. My dad just spent over an hour assembling it. Guess what? The motor that pushes the cars along was manufactured wrong. The motor spins it backwards. So, basically, the toy does not work. What a piece of junk!
