This set represents the classic rivalry between Don "the Snake" Prudhomme and Tom "the Mangoose" McEwen back in the days when ordinary men became daredevil drivers and hurled down the track at super-high speeds. When McEwen and Prudhomme joined forces in the yearly 1970s, they received unprecedented corporate backing from Mattel, making Hot Wheels one of the first large non-automotive sponsors.
