4.0 out of 5 stars Fun for kids who like cars and dinosaurs destruction.
My 4-year old got this from his grandparents for Christmas, and likes it just fine. It took awhile to put together, but nothing outrageous, maybe 10-15 minutes, with "help" from our 4 and 6 year old. It didn't require any special tools, and we didn't need to supply any batteries. This toy is definitely much cooler than just knocking down blocks with a plastic dinosaur...

1.0 out of 5 stars cheaply made but some fun
This is the poorest built toys we purchased this holiday season. The quality of the plastic used is thin and fragile, and a couple pieces were so warped they couldn't fit together. The dinosaur is fun, and decently made, as is the car. Besides that, it's a bit of a one trick pony: you set it up, you knock it down, repeat. Our son is having some fun with it, although is...

It didn't require any special tools, and we didn't need to supply any batteries. This toy is definitely much cooler than just knocking down blocks with a plastic dinosaur. It's cute to have the Empire State Building, complete with revolving helicopter, the dinosaur roars, and can hold the car in its mouth, and there is an area of the track that the car fits into, which you can spin wildly out of control with a little lever. That's my personal favorite part. For the money it seems well-made, and something that can be used for some fun creative play.

My son loves this set because he can build it and then have the dinosaur tear it down and then the process starts all over. Fun accessory to hot wheels collection.

We've had to work hard to keep the pieces together, as there are several small parts that could easily go missing. Otherwise, my son has really enjoyed having the T-Rex rampage the 50's style town.

Our son is having some fun with it, although is growing bored after a few hours of play. I would not recommend this toy, unless you can find it on sale for $10-15.

I bought this toy for my nephew who is 5 years old and he absolutely loves it. He spends hours playing with it because there is so much to do and so many different components. And this toy is easy to share because there are many different parts.

I bought this for my 3 year old son for his birthday in November. He loved it!! I sometimes have to help him set the toy up after he knocks everything down. It is not too hard to use though, his sister is 4 and she is able to help him when I am not around. The fun of it has worn off some, but I think that just may be due to present overload from Christmas.

This was a Christmas gift requested by my seven-year-old grandson, who is a big Hot Wheels fan. These sets are relatively inexpensive, fit well with other sets and provide a lot of fun for the imaginative child who can dream up stunts and adventures for his many Hot Wheels cars. A good choice, I would say.

I purchased this for my 5 year old grandson who is autistic. This toy helps him use his imagination, holds his attention for a long period of time (usually autistic kids have small attention spans). The only downside I find and didn't include in the rating, is the constant refilling of water. So I just give him a large pitcher of water so he can refill it instead of constantly going in and out of the house dripping water on the floor. I highly recommend this toy. He is only allowed to use it outside, so I have to figure out what to do during the winter months ;). An adult does need to assemble it, but my grandson learned how to do it just by watching his grandfather. I feel the price was good too.

3.0 out of 5 stars This is an okay toy - Mattel is a great company!, January 25, 2009

My son received this from Santa. He is 3 (almost 4). It is hard for him to make this work. It is even hard for me - as some things do not do what they are supposed to - they stick. The T-rex is really cool and that was his biggest kick. When we tried to put it together, we were missed a spring retainer. The piece stayed in - but not as good as it should. I called Mattel and because they did not just sell the retainer, they sent us a whole new race track. We also got to keep the original. I figure, I will let him destroy the first one and then we can open the next. They really are a good company.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, December 24, 2008
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars

My five year old really wanted this toy, but she was very disappointed once it was set up and she only played with it one time. First, be prepared to spend about 20 minutes putting the pieces together. The set requires that the child pick up the dinosaur and smash him into the various buildings etc. Then someone needs to put the pieces back together again to continue play. For example, the buildings fold in half and need to be put upright and a piece of the road falls off if the child smashes the dinosaur into it. Putting some of the pieces back together was difficult for my 5 year old. To be honest, my money would have been better spent to purchase just a plastic dinosaur and then my child could knock down blocks or other toys.
