One of the best jazz fusion albums around!,

Carl's Album is incredible, its a wonder he stays as modest as he does. Live their sound stays true to the album. Carl's guitar playing on this record rivals fusion masters like Scott Henderson, its hard to believe that his fame has not grown past this region.

Something old, someting new,

You know, there has to be something for us 50-ish people besides grooving to the oldies and putting up with the the crumby bands of today with no instrumental virtuosity. Carl Filipiak is that something. He pays tribute to Hendrix with "Hey Jimi" without dragging out that old chestnut "Hey Joe". He pays tribute to Jeff Beck with one of Beck's most poignantly beautiful tunes "Now That We've Ended as Lovers". He matches Beck, however, with his "Song for Irene" and gives us some fresh sounds with his own brand of fusion rock-jazz.
