Okay, I see a lot of miscellaneous complaints that I wanted to address for anyone interested in ordering this product:

*Customer Images: The two customer images showing the clear plastic pieces were either a mistake of AccessoryOne or a mistake of the customer who uploaded them. The unit I received looks exactly like the product images (no clear plastic at the base)

*LEDs: Yes the blue LED is annoying, but as one reviewer said, just cover it with something.

*Extended Life Battery: Definitely do not get this cradle if you have the large extended-life battery. The charging slot is definitely upside-down, and you will not be able to charge the large battery.

*Simultaneous Charging: You can most definitely charge the extra battery and phone at the same time. You just don't try to do it with a computer USB port; use the included AC plug.

*G1 Port Flap: The unit that I received has a cavity behind the USB connector (in the cradle) to allow for the rubber port flap.

My only complaint about this cradle is that when the phone is in the cradle, it sits almost vertical, which makes it awkward for using / looking at the touch screen. Really, a minor complaint for something so useful and so cheap.

This was shipped from AccessoryOne, and it does not look as it does in the description. There is a clear plastic piece which is extremely snug on the G1. I could barely get the phone on there without feeling like I was about to break it. The battery charger is functional, but the slot is nearly too small to fit the G1 battery. After some fiddling I was able to force it in. The charging lights on it are also distractingly bright.

This will be ok as a secondary battery charger, which is the main reason I bought it. Too bad I can't use the cradle :-(

If you're looking to buy, I would try a different vendor so you get exactly what the description images show.

The item shipped is the cradle that has the clear plastic. There is no recess for the rubber usb port plug. This is a total rip-off! AVOID! Do not believe the lies. Filing a report right now, but this level of fraud requires me to first stop anyone from wasting their time/money on this! the customer supplied photo is 100% correct. g1 will NOT fit without forcing it. I refuse to force anything into a 400$ phone.

This product is great. I ordered a second high capacity battery for the G1, and I swap it in and out with my original battery whenever I need to. the only thing that is bad about this product is that it has this blue LED that will literally blind you when you hover over it, say to change your battery. I solved this problem with a small piece of electrical tape, which blends perfectly with the base stand.

I highly recommend this product for people with multiple batteries.

OK to start off the picture is wrong.It is a picture of the old model.
look at the last picture up there that is the one you will get the new version of this charger.
It is way better with the plastic piece on it.The old one without the plastic piece you couldn't even bump it or the phone would fall out you had to hold the base and the phone if you wanted to use it in the cradle now you don't you can just use your finger and it wont fall over like before,
second now it fits so tight that you can hold it upside down and the phone will not fall out.
third the blue light is not that bad I don't think maybe in the dark or something.
fourth if you write code and down load to your hand set allot instead of using the simulator it comes in handy being able to just use one finger to touch the screen test your changes rather then fight to keep it in the cradle all the time.
BELIEVE ME FOR 12 BUCKS THIS IS WELL WORTH IT.

well, i guess it worked for a little bit, but eventually, the port stopped making connection to the phone when in the cradle. So the phone sits there and does not charge. oh and the extra battery charger worked for about the same amount of time. In conclusion, this is a nice cradle to hold your phone and extra battery without charging them.

i read the other comments before I ordered this item and it seems as though different items are being sent to different people. I received the one with the white(clear) holder and there was no place to slide the port cover. I do like the item, but i cannot place my phone in the cradle.

To their credit, they issued a refund, but don't waste your time and return shipping money.

Eforcity shipped a substitute item that IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH HTC G-1 Google Smartphone.

SUBSTITUTE ITEM - ASIN: B003FGXS46 - has clear plastic slot, and no cavity behind the USB connector (in the cradle) to allow for the rubber port flap.

ORDERED ITEM - ASIN: B001OAGBW6 - open slot, no clear plastic, has a cavity behind the USB connector (in the cradle) to allow for the rubber port flap.

Bargaincell continues to list this item and take orders, even though they will just cancel the order, as they do not stock this item. Don't waste your time with Bargaincell, as that's no way to do business.

1 - the 1 I rec'd had the clear piece as pictured in the customer-submitted images
2 - this is poorly designed & will cause the little tab that covers the usb port on your G1
3 - the battery charger is tight & fits the oem battery after some wiggling but if you have any other battery I wouldn't recommend it
