I bought one of these for myself about 3 years ago, loved it so much I bought one for my mother-in-law, and this one I bought for another friend. Never anything but perfect wine opening every single time from all of them. If I had more friends who needed one, I would have bought more...

I'm a firm believer that everyone needs one of these. I bought my first Houdini a few years ago and have been hooked ever since. My friend and I caught a buy 3 get one free deal on Amazon for the blue Houdini and liked it much more than our older models because of the new stand. We took the buy 3 get one free deal, kept two and gave the others away as presents! It's my go to gift for someone getting their first apartment or a wedding present.

Bought this item to replace a electric powered corkscrew. Works great for me. My wife indicates that it is a little hard for her to penetrate some corks on the down stroke, but the actual cork pulling part is easy. Well constructed product. Would recommend.

Very cheap plastic not worth the price. I was trying to replace an opener that I received about 6 years ago and ordered this junk. No where in the description does it let you know that this is CHEAP plastic and the picture is deceiving.

I've used everything but the pourer. Everything works really well but feels cheap in your hand, feels cheaply made.

The handle snapped right at the end of the reinforcing molded inside it, for "strength". I managed to get about 10 bottles open before the thing broke off in my hand, cutting my palm. Would like to get my money back, as it isn't worth the $54 I paid for it! It was a gift for my husband - so I could open my own wine.... some gift!

Upon opening my first bottle of wine, the little cap that is SUPPOSED to hold the corkscrew in place popped right off and has not worked since. I would NOT recommend this. Get the rabbit instead.

This is pretty flimsy. It hasn't broken yet, but I am surprised when it opens a bottle and is still not snapped in two.

This is the fourth one of this type of wine opener that I have bought. It seems that they are getting chintzier each time. They are cheap, so I don't mind that they only last about a year or at the most two. Opening a bottle of wine is an easy job with this tool, so for the price I'd say, "Go for it!"
