Imagination takes shape,
By A Customer
This review is from: Houghton Mifflin Mathmatics: Shape Space CL (Hardcover)
A delightful gymnast plays with shapes and creates a world ofcolor and imagination. Children love to chant the "chorus"of shapes that repeats throughout the book, and then create their own shape pictures. A lively introduction to shapes and creative play.

This book is way too expensive for a teacher to buy when there are other great children's lit books using geometric shapes.

This is a great and imaginative story that helps the readers learn their shapes. The children in our preschool class always love having this book read to them.

I first stumbled on this book in the library about 7 years ago. My then 3 year old loved it and I never forgot it. I was so happy to find it again. My now 4 year old loves it as do her older siblings! My kindergarten son said his art teacher read it to them in school! I read it to my daughter and then introduced her to the tanagrams we have had in the house for years. Suddenly, she wants to play with them. Super learning tool! The rhyme/jingle is infectious: "rectangle, triangle, rectangle, triangle, semi-circle, semi-circle, circle and square." I will use this in my preschool classroom next year. Simple and sweet!
