I just purchased this thesaurus (if you can call it that) for my office. It was a total waste of money. I can't tell you how many times I have looked up a word and it is not there. And for those that are included, there are no unique synonyms...I had already thought of them all. I actually logged on to purchase the original Roget's, but thought I should let others know that they are better off with a traditional indexed thesaurus than this useless thing.

This is definitely a waste of time & money. It's more of a dictionary than a thesaurus. They just don't provide enough synonyms & that's what I'm looking for.

I have two Thesauri, one at work and one at home. Roget's II, my home thesaurus, is totally inferior to my work thesaurus. The one I use at work, the Oxford American Thesaurus, may not be the best on the market, but it is far superior to Roget's II.

My wife is very disappointed with the New Thesaurus 3rd edition that we purchased it is nothing like the old one that we had, it doesn't have as many words and is totally unsuitable.

This book is one of the best resources I use for my writing. It's easy to find the words and the meanings.

I have a relative who was an editor for a magazine in her time, she had a really old edition of Roget's Thesaurus. I wanted to surprise her & boy was she thrilled! She skimmed through it & now months later has still thanked me for it! She is the true reviewer but her excitement for this series in particular makes me rate it a 5 STAR!
