I have read 1,000's of books and this novel is on my all time 5 top favorites list. This story has a strong female heroine, two dangerous, charming, georgous, hot, sexy, loyal, Sexy male leads, good secondary characters and world building and a suspenseful plot. I loved how during the novel several of the hounds kept saying "hounds don't DO lion's!!" I am so glad that Lennox decided to do her two lions. I wanted to get to the end to find out who the bad guy was, but I didn't want to get to the end because it is, well....the end. I've read many other stories with the same formula, but they just weren't as good as Sadie Hart's novel. I am sooo glad she wrote a novel in addition to her three very short stories, and since this novel had a #1 at the end of the title, I will be watching for #2 religously. Please, do yourself a big favor, spend the small fee of $2.99 for a very large good read worth so much more. I definately recommend this story, enjoy!!!

I've read a lot of e-books since readers came out, and quite often, the less expensive stories are lacking in that they leave the reader with the feeling of a incomplete story, insufficient world building, or a relationship that is super explosive and unbelievable because there's not enough time to let the key players develop a relationship. THAT'S NOT THE CASE with Hounded. That's why I decided to write a review even though I don't write a lot of them...I'm too busy getting ready to go on to the next book on my TBR list!

I did look at previous reviews and the other reviews weren't just lip service..that gave me the interest in Ms. Hart's book. I'm so glad I bought it!

I loved the fact that the heroine was alpha type, decisive and didn't fall immediately into bed with the hunky guys (lion shifters) who you knew she'd end up with. There was time for the relationship to build and for the reader to feel a tie to the characters. Additionally, the shifters in this story were a little different from those so often seen...in that the enforcement service was made of different dog breeds...and the personalities of the shifters reflected the breeds used. Yes, I had to look up Rhodesian Ridgeback! There was actually a plot, not just sex (tho' the sex was hot), and the suspense kept me going for a while so that even when I knew who the culprit was, I had to keep reading to see how everything resolved.

Yes, there are a fair amount of typos that might have been caught and corrected, but not enough in number or impacting the storyline to make it irritating, as in books by other authors I've read and stopped before ever coming close to finishing.

I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series!

Despite the serious danger that definitely lurked in the background at all times in the story, it was actually a fun book. I loved the banter among the characters, the world building was nice and progressive, character development had good depth, and story was well paced to keep constant interest. There's a nice variety in the types of shifters, which is always nice, because shifters stories tend towards big cats or wolves a lot of the time. There's also magic in the world making it a well rounded urban fantasy.

One thing that bugged me a little is that unless there's a really good reason (and I'll admit it was pretty good here), I kind of hate reading from the villain's POV. It was a little aggravating at times, but for the most part, this author's style definitely added a level of mystery and kept you guessing as to his identity until the moment he's revealed to characters in the book. It was also disappointing that until the last few pages, there was actually little to no shifting, but there is still plenty of mention of the animals just beneath the surface to remind you what lurks under the skin of them all.

At first I was a little nervous about the romance aspect of the book. There are times where PDA and such were viewed so casually that it didn't feel "special". That gets better quickly though as the connection between Tegan, Kanon, and Lennox grows. There's tons of sexual tension for a while, taking the anticipation up a notch, and it's just...gloriously frustrating! When they finally get down to business, it's worth the wait.

This book is full of fun, suspense, blazing ménage, and heartwarming romance. Loyalty and the bonds of friendship are tested leaving you on the edge of your seat through the last few chapters. Recommended!
