This group is amazing! They blend mandolin, fiddle, a tight rhythm section, and beautiful vocals with creative melodies and lyrics to form a unique sound that is simply captivating. This is a band hard to define and easy to love.

Listen to the MP3 sample of their song Texas (about a marriage proposal to the lead singer's friend at night on the border of Texas and first performed by NCH at the wedding) and you'll be hooked!

By chance I was introdiced to Newcomer's Home (NCH) while on a trip to Jackson, Wyoming. They were playing in a bar and I was immediately captivated by their sound. I'm not someone to quickly become a hard-core fan of any group, especially ones I hear in bars, but NCH is that good! At the show I bought both of their albums and by the time I had made it home I was hooked. I later drove 250 miles to see them play in Chicago and I was floored again by their versatility, tight sounds, and great songwriting. I would highly reccomend this CD and any others you can find from NCH. Enjoy them live if you can and become a fan before they hit it big!

This band will blow you away. Katie Rocks the house with the most amazing voice, and incredible guitar playing! Wait till she hits the djembe though, you will go through the roof! Laurie, Tim, and Andrew, are also some of the most talented musicians out there. Once you hear them Laurie on the fiddle, Tim on the mandolin, and Andrew on his guitar), you will be a fan for life! Newcomers Home rocks!!! They're bluegrass, but not-too-bluegrassy, with an awesome folk sound and incredible vocals by Kate Herzing. The lyrics are thought provoking about life, expectation, the Almighty, adventure, nature etc. I love these guys.....Get the "Live at the Boulder Theatre" CD...it's also awesome!!!

I first saw NCH last year at Houston's First Baptist Church at their Monday night worship service. They rocked the house! The music is amazing and the fiddle is perfect for Texas. Their song Tejas was of course the favorite of the night. I bought their live cd and am getting this one next. Katie Herzig (the lead singer) also has a solo album out now so be sure and go check it out!
